Thank you! That's very helpful. I'm just a little worried they won't repair it because I've read a couple of things here saying that if he canvas isn't it great condition they won't do it. There is just a tiny spot on one of the corners that worries me. The rest of the canvas looks good. But the vachetta is all in pretty bad shape.
I've always heard that they won't repair with cracks in the canvas as well. I've got a ton of vintage LV straps and parts. I know I have a set of new handles and tabs but I think the patina is too light. Let me see what I can find. That's a really tough break right there. One option might be to create a little biscuit joint and use Leatherweld to reattach. Happy to help if you haven't fixed this yet. What a truly awesome find!

I wanted to share some pictures of my little project. I must say THANK YOU to Devdev123 for answering all of my questions and providing some help along the way!
I purchased this Agenda from eBay and dyed it with Fiebing's Leather Dye in Purple.

This is awesome!! I can't wait to get hold of one of these vernis pieces now. I love the look but always thought it was a loss once they stained. How has it held up?

I'm so bummed. My "darling" child got maple syrup on the base of my montsouris gm. The base was absolutely pristine before this incident.

Does anyone have any suggestions for removing/lightening the stain? I tried using LMB vachetta cleaner & conditioner immediately after it happened, but those products barely did anything. Would a magic eraser work? I know it's harsh and not great for the leather, but I figured it might be okay to use a harsher stain removal solution for the base (I would never use magic eraser on the straps, visible trim, etc). How do you remove stains on vachetta with magic eraser? Is there a specific technique involved?
Oh my, let's exhaust all other options before hitting the magic eraser. Keep in mind that magic eraser is basically very fine sandpaper. I've heard people having good luck with alcohol free baby wipes. I think just about anything you use will darken the area so your best bet might be to clean the entire area so that it blends.

Hi!
I've just purchased this Noe in Epi leather that has dried paint on it. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove it? I'm thinking about dying it but would like to try cleaning it first :confused1:
I second the finger nail, that would've been my first step. Next I would try a q tip soaked in Goo Gone (not the spray gel, that does nothing) This one is a liquid. You can usually find it at Lowes in the cleaners/paint section. It comes in a small bottle. $2 I think. Might be a combo of this and scraping but I bet it will come off. Good luck!

I cannot wait to try this out, what a fun project! I'm curious how it has held up though...
Frankly if it is my bag, I wouldn't not try to remove the pain, the most I would do is to find similar color paint to paint over the paint spots disguise it. I'm afraid the nail polish remover will not remove the paint spots also would dull the leather lose the shine. Just my thinking, please prove I'm wrong so I'd learn

Here is my latest rescue. I really don't understand why people trash their bags like they do. I was so close to breaking out the bleach! Fortunately the inside is the worst of it. When it was wet after cleaning it smelled weird so I'll be working on that issue today. I have some lightly used handles and side straps so I think I'll replace those myself. Has anyone tried re stitching or hand sewing handles on?

Okay, I think that's officially the dirtiest LV I've ever seen! Looks like someone was hauling coal around. I'll bet you can find some YouTube videos on leather stitching, to at least get an idea of technique. Looking forward to you after photos!

Just curious, how much did you end up purchasing this one for? Not interested in sending into LV for getting new vachetta?

I saw a posting from a person that was able to clean up their GM Bucket bag. I am new to this and saw many you tube videos. I have turned mine inside out and I am using strong tape to remove the sticky flaking interior. I bought Basso for the brass and will use Dawn for the zipper (as I read this leaves no film). I saw a video where a woman used a lightly damp sock to clean the handles and another a light Mr Clean sponge (cut in small strips) followed up with leather conditioner buffed on it. I hear self foaming soap for the outside of the bag or just a damp rag. I would appreciate any guidance.

This is not my bag or my artwork, but some people truly have a gift from God. She painted this... wowzaView attachment 3824542
If this is not allowed moderators please remove, but it is just I got a influx of likes...so I guess people wanted more information.

I came across her in a Fb group. She also does flowers on LV bags (e.g. you wanted to cover up initials on a preowned LV bag). Just seems to be very gifted. Her prices seem reasonable. I would assume she probably could draw anything, but i am not sure...dont know anything about her except I like her restorations.
