Well, to anyone wondering whether I tried again, with that super small bangle… I have not. The fear is just too much! I may try today with my brother squeezing my hand, but I’m not too sure. My reasoning for getting the super tight bangle was to have it sitting higher on my hand. But, I wore a super small metal bangle, much smaller than any jade bangle since the metal bangle opens and closes, and it STILL moves a lot along my arm. My arms are just too skinny. Right now I’ve been wearing Ivy, and I’m quite happy with her, I don’t want to remove this bangle just to bruise my hand, and have an unremovable bangle. I’ve also worn Legolas, featured directly above. I value switching out my bangles too much, and hate when they bang together, so wearing multiple at the same time isn’t for me. The small one may honestly never be worn.

Hello hello beautiful people,
I'm new to the forum and I come seeking advice..
I'm fairly new to jade but im starting to learn it's worth. I just recently bought a necklace from mason kay and I fear I may have over payed for it. I haven't found anything quite like it, I like the design/carving and the springtime lavender, the pop of green in the pinkish hues. However I don't like the idea that i wasn't given a fair price and just bought the brand name. Especially after a little digging into their Instagram that I learned Kris Mason follows too many Zionist propaganda pages that support the genocide and displacement of the Palestinians.... although Kris hasn't answered my DM/question if she finances the war I have a sour feeling in my throat.
It is 43mm x 52 mm, at $735. I can return it but lose a 3% due to a cc fee.
Will I find something similar, anywhere else for cheaper? I love the creaminess of like creamer added to tea. Once it arrives in the mail I'll see how it glows in person. I not crazy for icy translucency but prefer things like the dad from fresh off the boat wears, solid creamy pops of color. A pop of complimentary color for my earthy aesthetic of green and browns and blue.

Today at the fleamarket i found a lavender cabochon bracelet that matches , authentic but worn out where the gold and stones have degraded visibly for $270 for tiny 6in 14k maybe 13 to 15 tiny cabachons that look white periwinkle from a distance, it almost feels like divine timing because as a San Fran local I'm integrating into the Chinese -American market. Can visible pores and some yellowing be buffed out the jade ? I tried to haggle it down to 190 which lead to 215 but no deal was made before the vendor became passive aggressive (after lying about lavender being the most sought after color and not imperial green, i said i low balled because i wanted to replace the clasp to which he replied jewelery isnt somethingyou invest money in??...).

So I have two questions, how much am I overpaying for this necklace and can I find better deals elsewhere where i can find a matching set?
Thank you for reading so far!

tldr: how much am I over paying for 1.69 in x 2 in , and a jade bead accent necklace for 730 plus tax . Where can I find similar pieces ?

I’ve bought stuff from mason kay, but nothing over $300. In my experience, their stuff is extremely overpriced. My only reason for shopping with them, was to make sure that my first ever piece of jade was authentic. They are very adamant about testing every piece they sell, and it comes with a guarantee. For any future jade piece, I wanted a baseline.

Now, as to whether this piece you bought was over priced? I think so. Maybe by about 300 dollars? If you go on Etsy and look up ultimate jadeite, unijade, or all aboutjadecanada, they have similar sized jadeite pendants for much cheaper. Ultimate jadeite especially is very trustworthy, and you would have been able to find pieces with that color combo, AND with clarity. I’ve noticed everything on mason kays website is overpriced. However, that design is extremely unique, and I’m pretty sure you won’t find it anywhere else. Out of all the places, I think unijade would be the most likely to have something similar. I don’t buy pendants from there though, because the bails are never solid gold, just plated. And most pendant don’t even have a metal bail. Just string. It’s a gorgeous pendant, and if I were you, I would just keep it to compare with any future pieces. It’s gorgeous, and if it called out for you, then so be it.

I’d be honest that it’s overpriced. It’s “just” 3% to lose if you would to return. However, if you can get past knowing that you’ve overpaid it and that you truly love it, I don’t see why you shouldn’t keep it! And enjoy wearing it.
