I am so, very sorry @Junkenpo for the loss of your home that you have experienced. Hoping for all that is good as you move forward from this unfortunate incident.

I am so sorry to hear this Junkenpo. If it is any consolation you have 2 of the most of stunning jade pieces still and you still have your excellent eye for beauty.

I think your advice is very sound. I will definitely consider working out what our evacuation/safety route would be in our area.

There was a lot, and I mean a lot of pain to move it past my knuckles and thumb bone, but it got past. It hurt far more than usual, but I’ve seen videos of people with bruised hands, so I assumed I finally found the correct size for me lol. The problem is that the bangle won’t go past that. It goes past my knuckles, my thumb, but won’t go past the bottom part of my hand. I’m at a loss. I tried three time, and three times I’ve failed. I don’t want to try again today, as my hand is spectacularly bruised. What should I do?

I tried the plastic bag, but had more luck with hair conditioner. I don’t know if I’m going to return it, since I feel I can wear it, I think I just need another person to squish my hand while I slide it down, and maybe some ice. I was watching some tik tok videos and noticed many times that people were able to fit super small bangles with help and a lot of pain. However, I don’t know if I want to have a permanent bangle. I like switching between bangles, and the effort it would take to removed would be so extensive…. Also, the bruising got worse

The lower part of the bruising is the lowest part I was able to slide the bracelet on to. Surprisingly, my knuckles and thumb were fairly easy. As can be seen, I was almost there, but it refused to budge over the meaty lower part of my hand.

For now, let your hand heal before attempting (if you plan to) again. It might be swollen so it’s gonna make the squeezing even harder.

I had an episode like yours and I wished I didn’t have forced the bangle in haha. The removing was 10x worse. I had to go to a jade shop to have 2 ladies helped me remove. And I am not putting it on again. Unless I send it back to where I bought it (the source I got is a jade factory and they provide lifetime mm expanding).

For me, foaming soap works best (compared to plastic bag).

I change out my bangle every other day so I cannot afford to have pain every time. I have bangles that go one size up. It makes my changing out more enjoyable.

Almost all my bangles are oval except one I got recently is the same cut as yours. Is this cut your first?
Mine is a good fit with same spot you’ve mentioned being stuck too but I can wriggle it in. For oval bangle, the stuck part is slightly different on the hand but I have it made worked so long I get the sizing right.

Whenever I remember I squish my hands (as if I need to get my hand through a bangle) periodically to keep them flexible. I read that early in the day our hands are bigger (retention from overnight?) so I usually put on/take off bangles later in the day. I also try to avoid doing 'heavy' work with my hands prior to putting on/taking off my bangle. Doing these things plus running my hand under very cold water before putting it on with soap seems to make it slightly easier for me.

I recently miraculously moved my small agate bangle from my nondominant hand to the dominant one even though it was already tough getting it on the smaller hand. Unfortunately, now it's stuck because my hand get a little swollen from a skin reaction. I felt bruised for 2-3 days after a couple of failed attempts. My skin rash is almost gone, but the bruising is still fresh in my mind. I will wait until the weather gets cooler. Thinking back, I'm not sure if the bangle was positioned more diagonally across my hand rather than parallel to my hand when sliding my hand through the bangle. I'm going to be more mindful of this the next time I attempt it.

I hope you'll be able to get it on with more ease after your hand had some time to heal. Maybe someone can assist to hold and squish your hand when you're ready. That's what I'm thinking of doing next time. Good luck and feel free to let us know how things work out.
