Here’s mine. Passed down from my husband’s grandmother. View attachment 5847595
It looks beautiful. And more beautiful that it was worn by a loved one.

When I was a teenager, my granny passed on and one of her jewelry pieces was a jade bangle. I passed on it because I was too young to understand anything about jade. If only I had kept it.

Thank you. Some other angles here.

Unfortunately I can’t remove it from my hand to show the entirety for now ha! I’ll be going to a jade shop to ask for help. This is oval 53.5. I have few other 53.5 oval too that are easy to wear/remove. But this fellow I can’t remove it due to its shorter part of the oval. I called a random store and he assures me can be removed. He was so kind to offer to help me, just pop by his shop when I need to.

Wonder if anyone encountered such?
Yes, we've been in such a predicament before, LOL! During the pandemic too! I had a choice to go in April 2021 to the shop I bought the bangle from when I noticed my weight going up but I decided not to do so since I hadn't been vaccinated yet. Then full-on lockdown happened again. My hubby and I tried to remove the bangle to no avail during this time. I was finally able to go to the shop in September 2021 after being fully vaccinated. Amazingly, my weight stayed the same over those months. The shopkeeper took half a minute to remove it with a plastic bag. He pulled in one direction while telling me to move away from him in the opposite direction. My hand hurt for a few minutes after the removal, LOL!

Dear all, just thought I'd show this and humbly ask for your opinions. Does this piece seem treated to your eyes? I like the dark intense green colour of it. I have sent it for testing and the result came out as jadeite jade grade A. I am in Europe so I sent this to a lab called "AIG Worldwide". However, some people (i.e. Admins of some Facebook jade forums) don't believe the result and keep insisting that the jade has been treated. They further say that the carving is rough and therefore not worthy of the material if untreated. This has made me very doubtful! What do you think of it? This lab uses FTIR, Raman, and UV-VIS-NIR and Catawiki accepts their certificates for jade. IMG_20230724_195228_edit_634611921181809.jpgJ5330228326(1)_page-0001.jpg

I might transform the bangle into a hinged bangle or just leave it as it is to pass it on… will see!

Hi jadies, I'm just popping in to say hello. I haven't posted much lately and you'll probably see me even less for the next couple of years. I think I am done with jade collecting for awhile. My home was destroyed in the Lahaina fires 3 weeks ago, along with all but two pieces of my jade. I was wearing the pendant and the bracelet below when we evacuated and never thought that would be the last time I'd be in my home. Please have a disaster plan at the ready: both for evacuation and shelter-in-place. I'd also suggest reviewing whatever insurance policies you have and how you keep track of and store your jewelry.

My last 2 jadeite pieces:
