I have both and love both for different use.
I think the hype is there but the bag has been completely sold out in the US for months and months. I remember looking for a black one 6 months ago and I think its still sold out. I gave up on it honestly and I think others have as well.

Gabrielle is an edgy and unique bag and reckon that it is not for everyone. Compare to classic and flap bags, Gabrielle still has its appeal.
The gabrielle is my second most used bag after the reissue woc. I have it in so black small so it's very discreet and comfortable to carry for errands. Also get tons of compliments on it from people who have no idea that it's Chanel.
I saw this bag at Neiman Marcus yesterday, but with a 2020 tag on it. The person helping me said it was only available in small, but then I found a listing for it as medium size on fashionfile. Did it ever come in medium??
The person helping me wasn’t the most helpful in terms of research, I believe, but I wanted to ensure that the fashionphile listing was accurate.

My SA told me the other day that they didn’t order any Gabrielle bags from either 21A or 21B - forgot which one. But yeah. He also mentioned that he feels like the Gabrielle hype has died down and it’s not as hot as it used to be.

That's sad to hear, I still love my Gabrielle and I don't think Chanel will let ti die down.

I have been lusting over the Gabrielle hobo for over 4 months now. I'm in no way close to purchasing one nor in the near future (hopefully as soon as possible)! Just wondering if anyone can speak on how the bag wears over time for those have had it for a couple years now?
With my research in the preloved market, most wear can be seen on the base. I've also noticed that the bag gains more veins along the soft leather portion of the bag and becomes slouchier, almost collapsing on itself. Can anyone comment on this?

Good morning my dear, I have owned the Gabby small since November 2020, I use it about 2 times a week, I rotate my bags. Inside, when I'm not using it, I put an organizer, to always keep its shape, an event that is rarely noticed in the small, moreover I leave the chains lying on the ground around the bag, always when it is not in use. I thought it was more fragile at the bottom, actually not so much, I try to be careful, even if in the small size, being small, it always remains close to the body, so it also depends on the size you go to buy. Good luck, I let you know ... I love mine madly.
