I have another CERF tote question...
I recently purchased a cerf from bloomingdales but it had a small imperfection on the leather. I held onto it planning on exchanging it when another one was in stock at bloomies. Well today i picked up the second one only to bring it home and see that it looks slightly different than the one i bought 5 weeks ago! One bag is slightly smaller 8.5 x 13.5, and the other is 9 x 14. They both have the same flap closure ( I am told the much older bags did not have this extra flap), but the shape of the inside zippers are different. On the smaller bag the zippers are straight rectangles, on the larger bag the zippers are tapered at the base and get slightly wider at the ends. I have tried to speak with several SA at a few different chanel boutiques but no one will give me any informaton on the phone for "security" reasons. Also - the latest bag came in the wrong box which I did not realize until I came home. Though the SA had assured me that it was a new shipment and not a return. Otherwise the tags are the same. All chanel could tell me was that the bag had not changed (since the change in the closure which is not the case with these bags since the closures are the same). I am so confused as to why the bags are different and chanel is assuring me that they both must be real since bloomies is an authorized seller.
Does anyone know if the zipper and size recently changed? Do the bags come from different manufacturers and vary slightly depending on what "lot" they are in?

don't know about the cerf but i believe the patent jumbo flap got smaller so it wouldn't surprise me. the bags you looked at, were they different seasons?
Hi Lazybones - I saw your post in another thread and answered you there - I think the zipper pulls did change. I bought one recently and it had the tapered zipper pulls but I returned it because it was scratched and it looked like someone tried to peel off the hologram sticker. When I got my new one from the latest shipment, the zipper pulls were long and straight. There was also a slight difference in the shoulder strap and how much it tapered at the ends. I ended up keeping the new one with the straight zipper pulls because it was in better condition. Also, I looked at the other dept. stores and currently all the ones on the floor at my Saks have the straight zipper pulls.

Or is it too heavy? Is it meant for everyday to knock around? I'd love opinions on what people think of the Cerf/Executive because I'm thinking of possibly getting one. Is the price still $2125?
Price for the Cerf is $2175 but saks is pre selling for their EGC event and you would get a $500 gift card too! Great bag, On my list of bags to get forsure, Very practical!

I have the cerf tote in black with silver hardware and love it! In terms of using it as an everyday bag, I think it would work very well. You can carry it by the handles as a tote or use the strap and carry it crossbody style or on the shoulder. It is a classic so you really can't go wrong. Get it! :okay:
Do you think it's better than the Medallion? Cuz I have that one, which I use all the time, but I'm thinking of selling it to fund a Cerf. I love the Medallion but I think it may be a little small looking.
Well, I don't know about better but the cerf is definitely bigger! The Medallion is not one of my favorites although I know it is a classic so I really can't comment on it. However, I can travel and carry daily work samples, folders, a water bottle and the norm in my cerf and still have a bit of room. Plus, it comes with the zip pouch that you can put your wallet in for security. The cerf is made of caviar leather too so it is very durable. It is more of a business look though and works great with suits, etc. It really just depends on you and the look/style you want to convey...Good Luck!
cerf is great for everyday bag compared to medallion and you can wear the sling if you dont want to use the handles.. its a nice everyday bag..
