I finally settled on my Cerf after a 2 month long search (the first 2 bags I found had some imperfections and had to be returned) and love the way it looks. It is exactly the look I was going for in my search for a new bag.

However, upon placing my items inside the bag for the first time I realize this is a pretty HEAVY bag - much heavier than the LV cabas piano I have been carrying. I dont even have that much stuff - wallet, agenda, sunglasses. I am petite - 5"2", and dont mind the size, but I wonder after a day out will the weight of the bag be a big pain! I do not like the shoulder strap so I do not plan on using it. I can carry it tightly over my shoulder or on the crook of my arm.

I like the simplicity of this bag. So many bags today have all kinds of hardware, tassles and embellishments that are not my style.

So what does everyone think? Do we choose fashion over comfort? Do you fatigue from this bag? Are your bags heavy?

I think my Cerf is the lightest weight of any of my Chanel bags. Because you are used to carrying a bag that is nearly weightless, the LV, anything will feel heavy to you. I can load up my Cerf with everything, including books, water bottles, etc., and it never feels that heavy. You can always use the shoulder strap cross body. I know you said you weren't going to use the strap, but cross body it will distribute the weight more evenly.

Thanks for your responses! It seems that most of you dont mind the weight or are used to heavy bags. I am bad about changing my stuff from bag to bag, between work and shopping, so this bag has to be able to transition between both. Maybe I just need to get to the gym! I guess my screen name says it all!!

I have the cabas piano too and love it and wanted the cerf tote too.

balenciagas ARE incredibly lightweight! I guess when your bags are featherweights you forget about it until you pick up something heavy :P

even still, want that cerf/executive bag!

I use my mezzo for work stuff everyday and traveling, and cabas for shopping, errands, but I was really lusting for the plain and simple cerf..hmm

Beautiful bag.

I purchased a white cerf and then returned it because I was concerned with it rubbing and color transfer from jeans (if I carried it by my side with jeans) so I never put anything in it.....no help here.:confused1:

I have the Cerf and have never found it heavy. I also used to have the LV Piano tote, but the LV piano does not have much leather so it's lighter in weight. The Cerf is all leather, making it a bit heavier, but I have never thought it a heavy bag.

I also love the Cerf's simple style and clean lines. Such a timeless bag.
