I own it in black and I bought it pre-owned. I've had it for about 6 months now and have gotten a lot of use out of it. It has lost most of its shape as another member mentioned but overall it's a great comfortable everyday bag. I use it mostly for work.

I own the Executive style. I don't use the shoulder strap a lot. It looks kind of funny to me because the handstraps are sewn onto the bag rather than attached with hardware like LV. This is a slight annoyance when the shoulder strap is attached because the handles stay up instead of folding down over the bag. The hardware for the straps is hidden under the handles. I love this bag and use it whenever I need a big black bag. Which is most of the time. It is a great everyday/work bag.
I also own a GST in bordeaux. I love that bag, but they are two entirely different looks. The GST was my workhorse bag until I got the Cerf. The Cerf was actually my HG Chanel, but for various and sundry reasons (GST and Medallion in Beige) along the way until I bought it. Now I feel my Chanel family is complete.

Mine is the executive tote...I love it to death. I use it as my daily work bag...but I won't use it for daily causal use, because it looks too serious to be one....and more importantly, I still need to spare some time for my other babies...like cabas and reissues...

I just love how the tote can look simple or sophisicated, and best of all, it's understated, doesn't scream Chanel at all.
However, i noticed most of the ladies on this forum used the tote as your "work" bag. I was planning on purchasing this bag as my casual spring/summer bag. For example, wearing the tote in tees and shorts to the mall or running errands. Would that look too weird? I have a GST but i'm afraid it might be a little dressy.

I have both bags as well and don't use either really for work so don't worry about that. I really like the Cerf because of all the compartments and I love how top handle bags can make an outfit. That being said I don't tend to use the Cerf for shopping because your hands aren't really free. My one gripe about the Cerf is that it tends to lose it's structure. Many other TPF's have mentioned the slouchiness. The GST is a more structured bag and holds it shape better at least the older ones did. The new GST's are supposedly also on the slouchy side. The GST is my shopping bag. It also has great compartments but fits nicely on my shoulder and isn't too bulky. Good luck in your decision!
I have to admit that the bag does get a little slouchy but I have this tip which I learnt many years ago from some very helpful Fendi SAs in those baguette days. Cut a very thick piece of cardboard (black is good as you can't see the cardboard when you peep into the bag) to fit the base of the bag. That gives the bag some support at the bottom and prevents it from sagging. It also helps it stand up a little without flopping over.

I don't use them JUST for work, I use them for going out in jeans and a tee, shopping AND work also!
