^^^ No not that confusing at all! The older version has magnets and closes tight, giving the bag a more pinched look. The new version uses a tab and the top does not close completely. The bag also mantains its shape more.

Hi everyone!

I know that Cerf/Executive Tote is one of the most popular bags on this forum. I'm planning to purchase this bag before the price increase, yet, i know nothing about this bag beside it looks. I want it in Silver hardware, so most likely I'm getting the newer version of it which is the Executive. Can someone tell me more information about this bag before I make my decision?

Does the Cerf/Executive tote belong in the timeless classic or cruise line?

Can the bag be used as an everyday bag?

When was it released?

To the Cerf/Executive tote owners, how is the bag been holding up so far? Do you still like it? Is it comfortable on the shoulder? compare it to the GST, which do you like better?

yes, the bag can be used everyday

the bag is ok on the shoulders, i find that one of the straps would constantly be falling off so i would have to adjust it every minute or so. i'm not sure how it would be with the newer closing though.

I use this as my work everyday. I can wear it on my shoulders for limited amounts of time. It's not a bag I would take to the mall for a day of shopping, but to walk in and out of buildings for work it's perfect.

I bought mine pre-owned and have been using steadily for a month and it the leather is very durable. It has lost it's structure, meaning it has become slightly slouchy but I love that. I also love the the side pockets b/c it's perfect for quick access to a cell phone or keys.

I like the cerf much better than the GST. It's no secret, I am not a fan of the GST b/c it's not comfortable at all on me. The outer strap always falls off my shoulder and since it's meant to be carried on the shoulder I would be so annoyed at carrying it. Also, I work in a very conservative enviroment (nursing home therapy management) and the cerf is the perfect balance of function and chic for me. Good luck with your decision.

I just bought a cef/executive tote and its a very practical bag especially for work. I like the fact that it looks rather low key not like the other chanel bags which tend to be obviously chanel especially since I work in a rather conservative environment.

The interior is nylon and it comes with a detachable pouch and a longer leather shoulder strap. I have to say that after a month of usage, the bag has held up really well although its gone a little slouchy. The bag is ok on the shoulders provided I don't overload the bag which I tend to. No regrets getting this as I was deciding between this or the medalion. :tup:
