Tadelakt leather?

^pinkchampagne.... Thank you for your update. I just came across this thread while researching Tadelakt. I love Hermes smooth leathers - Box, Barenia, Sombrero, Swift - and was intrigued with the sheen and the beauty of colours in Tadelakt while curious about the maintenance. Appreciate if you can share info on the following:
- Does the initial leather shine hold or does it become more matte over time?
- Is the leather as thick as or thicker than Box (think a member shared that the leather is thicker than Box)?
- Do the scratches and scuffs blend into the bag and become less noticeable with time?

Sorry, just noticed this now. I've only had my bag for about a year, but it hasn't lost any shine. It is very smooth. Aside from my pen mishap, which 99% resolved and you would need a trained eye to spot the problem, I haven't noticed too many blemishes. I do have corner wear, though.

Sadly, I don't think so. It's not like barenia. The plus side of this leather is that it doesn't lose shape.

@pinkchampagne I’m really loving my Etoupe Tadelakt! The shimmery finish is TDF. I love to see it glimmer in the sunshine...and I hope you are enjoying yours since we have the same color. Here’s a pic of her enjoying high altitude in the mountains.
@mswkk I had a couple of drops of rain that fell on her but only one created a small blister but it’s hardly noticeable. I carry a small foldable reusable bag to protect my B if I get caught in the rain. @pinkchampagne have you had any exp with rain on your Tade?

I’ve been using my Tadelakt Constance for a year now and I’ve not had any scratches. I do take care while opening the clasp of course. The subtle shine is still present and I’m loving how supple the leather is.

It’s rarer than Constance in Epsom and I always get compliments and questions as to what leather it is.

I know! It’s one of my favorites and it has held up quite well with daily use. Such a pretty, shimmery leather and glad to be your Birkin twin!

I have a bearn compact in bleu izmir tadelakt as my everyday wallet. I've been using it daily since October. I spilled water on it and the wallet has held up beautifully with absolutely no issues, basically like I never spilled anything on it! The leather has held up beautifully!
