Tadelakt leather?

Tadelakt is beautiful and in Fauve can really look and behave much like Barenia. The last Fauve Tadelakt bag I owned was described as Box calf by the seller but mistaken for Barenia by most people who saw it. I was told this color in Tadelakt was in fact an attempt to compensate for Barenia being so hard to find.
That said, it is a finished leather so I doubt it does as well with water as Barenia. Personally I'd treat it like a slightly more robust Box.

I cannot speak to other colours, but I have a Noir Tadelakt K25 which has definitely gotten water on it, and it's totally fine. I have found this leather to be relatively durable and tough.

Agreed! Was caught in the rain with my tadelakt k25 last week. Wiped right off.

I have a Constance with tadelakt leather in rouge vif, which I got back in early 2018 (not sure if that’s what you meant by “a few years”). It honestly looks brand new today… still so shiny and buttery!

Thank you so much! Have you found the tadelakt leather quite delicate? That was my biggest worry but my SA said scratches can be easily buffed out at the H spa. I'm also careful with my bags

It does scratch but the scratch softens to barely noticeable when rubbed softly with clean fingers. I suspect with more little scratches it will all just blend in. I am determined to enjoy the beauty of the leather and not worry about scratches as they’re barely noticeable, particularly with that beautiful sheen.

Awesome, thank you for the reassurance. The leather is breathtaking. The most similar leather to this in my collection is my Celine Classic Box - it's very smooth but I've kept it in pretty good condition.

I also think tadelakt keeps this overall bag in a light, manageable weight - always a plus since I can't stand heavy bags!

I am SO excited to share that I have been offered a Kelly 28 in calfskin (tadelakt) and GHW. I cannot believe how beautiful she is and incredibly lucky I am!
