Hi

Would you consider a kelly wallet in takelakt leather? I heard this type of leather scratches easily. Please share your experiences with this leather esp for ladies who have it for a long time. I want to know how it holds up in the long run.
Thanks!
Hmmm, there's a slouchy / wrinkled / wavy tadelakt k40 in this thread - but it looks like it may have had some water damage as well.

I have a gorgeous k35 in tadelakt. I truly hope it doesn't turn into this k40! I've taken it out when there was a light drizzle (but covered with a shawl) and no damage was done. I was told by the SA that tadelakt does not take on the patina of box.

I have a Constance long wallet in tadelakt and it scratches really easily. In my opinion it's worse than box, which at least when scratched eventually blends in, I wouldn't buy it again

For small pieces such as jewelry, it is fine. I recall asking an SA about the scratchability and she had a swatch and she dragged her nail across it and there was a scratch on the swatch.

I would not shy away from a clutch style of smaller purse but would shy away from a larger piece that is going to get bumped and rubbed. Appearance wise, I like it but then again I very much favor smooth leathers over more grainy ones.

It's astonishing to me that H will introduce a new skin and make very expensive bags out of it, when it scratches and wrinkles. I would be furious if I had a bag that did that. I just don't understand.

I have a B in tadelakt leather with guilloche buckle & to me its just the best combination as the smooth leather brings out the gorgeous texture of the buckle. Yes, i tend to 'baby' the bag coz of the leather but I do the same with bags with epsom leather as well. If you want a leather thats more rugged, go for togo or clemence. If you want a smooth leather & you appreciate that leather 'breathes' & has its own characteristic, get tadelakt

THIS!
I have seen a bag like yours and it is AMAZING!!!! Love it in tadelakt~uber elegant.

I have a Medor clutch in Tadeklat, it scratches easily and I hesitate to carry this. I would not get a wallet in this leather, if it's not a really dark color like black or brown. I see Rose lipstick Kelly wallets just came out in Tadeklat, and while its sooo pretty brand new, I don't think I'll buy it, as I don't want to see it scratched up! I would be so sad :(

I'm bumping this old thread as I'd like to know how Tadelakt bags in size 30 and above have held up over the years. Also would greatly appreciate if anyone can share on their Tadelakt bag having gone to spa/refurbishment.

TIA! :flowers:

I longed for the constance 18 in smooth leather for the longest time, and I was told that H has almost stopped producing box leather. My jaw just dropped when my SA showed me C18 in bleu Izmir, smoothness, the shiny sheen on it is...ugh tdf. Ladies who own tadelakt would agree with me. I will try to do an update in 3-6 months time from now. This is my forever bag and I have no problems getting a few scratches on it, a little bag with personality doesn't hurt :girlsigh:

If someone who owns this leather from few years could chime in that would be wonderful. Before and After pictures would be AMAZING but I know...I am just asking for way too much.
