Center stone is .80 CT round brilliant and side stones are .19 CT, all set in white gold with plat. prongs, of course. Long before I got engaged, I decided I wanted a stone only around 3/4 of a carat. It's a more flattering size for my small hands and frame. Bigger is better, but not in my case.

Your rings are gorgeous! & your band is so unique. I can't get over that your centre stone is 0.80ct!! it looks so much bigger. Mine is 1.00ct & looks half the size. I need to shrink my hands!

This is a lovely thread! I have to post mine. I have a 1.07 round VVS1 G color set in platinum. We have grappled with upgrading to a 2 carat but the color and clarity of this one is so beautiful, I would want the exact same and at 2 carats it would be over $35K, I just cant justify it.....but I am thinking of changing the setting to a halo, will post pictures in a bit. All of your rings are lovely!!!!

I want pics! I want pics!!

thanks so much, Mrs. MC and c*jo*c! the moment i saw the band in the showroom, i knew it was exactly what i was looking for and the symbolism...i think it speaks for itself ;) the diamond is set high, so i think that helps it look big.

everybody has such gorgeous rings! keep the pics coming!!

nice rings, everyone.

my ering is princess-cut 0.5c (F & VVS1) with my semi-eternity (15d) wedding band - same quality. i have small hands so i guess, smaller rings suit me better.:p lucky hubby, huh?! j/k!

Ladies, I need some advice!

I want to start planning my next jewellery purchase which will be a pair of 1ctw diamond studs.

So far I have come across a 1ctw, ideal cut, D-E colour, VS2 clarity, 4 prong set in platinum with screw backs. Is US$3730 a decent price?

Should I sacrifice a bit of colour for higher clarity or keep it as it is?

BlueNile.com has 1 ct TW D VS2 Ideal cut with platinum 4 prong for 4013 US. If you look around, you can usually find a 10% off coupon (check Deals and Steals) and the web. This means, no tax and free international shipping, too. That would put them at 3612...

I'd keep checking if I were you...

FWIW, my jeweler advised me that it isn't particularly worth it to go for D in an earring. Its not as noticeable apparently--though others on the forum may disagree. Unless you plan to reuse them in something else later, like a ring as D sidestones. I'd put my money in the best cut so that they are super sparklers. You could get an F VVS2 and still be rocking some beautiful stones.

Lovely rings Ladies. Here is my set. They were chosen by my DH. (I chose the wedding band and wanted plain so I could still garden with "a" ring on.) I can't find my certificates but they are "colourless diamonds" vvs1 - vvs2. http://forum.purseblog.com/album.php?albumid=1595 Or shiney, pretty's as my stepdaughter used to call them!

I have a size J1/2 ring which is a size 5 in US. Engagement ring 1ct. Eternity ring 1/2 ct. They have been soldered at the back to make one ring.

I originally wanted a thick pave domed band in white gold with a split plain gold wedder either side (I still love that - perhaps a right hand ring...) however I am glad I have what I have as it is timeless. My grandma is 93 and her wedding set is a 3 stone engagement and 5 stone eternity and a plain wedder. I just hope my marriage lasts as long as hers.
