That seems to be your answer to everyone tonight! You use the term "troll" as a blanket statement and when people say they don't like it you say "Oh, what makes you think it was YOU? Guilty?? Self-centered? Bad conscience?" Nice little trick there. But let's just stop playing the game and get back to whatever this thread was originally about, no? ;)

I was the one who posted the promo code. I am NOT affiliated with them. I don't know any of them personally or have met any of them. I have used the product and a lot of ladies at that time were asking about it so I thought I'd pass the code along. I'd do the same if I got a code for Scotchguard, Appleguard, eBay or anything that I think people here can use.

Ahem... I'm just greatful I didn't give a single penny to Shining Monkey. Martha Stewart spent a year in jail for not disclosing her financial interests. It is just highly unscrupulous.

Apple Garde or Wilson's or Vector all the way.

Hmm...I just have a question. If I were to use Apple Guarde and I either didn't like it or it had adverse effects on my bags, should I not mention it on this forum? Because the last thing I want is to be accused of making up false testimonials, like people are doing now with those who support Shining Monkey....

Since there are only a couple of people arguing back and forth at this point. . . you guys can either choose to start PMing each other or stop arguing altogether. The Admins have stated their position on this product and the tedious arguing isn't going to change anything.

Keep in mind why this thread was started... this was something that came to our attention (Vlad and myself) because of some information we were given. We know much more than we said, and we will leave it at that. Plain and simple, we did not agree with nor will support the tactics and lack of ethics by which the product was supported.

Anything you buy or do to your bags is your own deal- not ours. You can go spray a can of PAM on your bag for all I care, but I probably won't be following.

The issue is not whether or not this prodcut works. Personally I will never spray any of my bags with anything- that is my own personal choice. The issue was how the owner of this product did not disclose information about her affiliation and other specific things we saw that were being said about how the product was being 'marketed' on our site.

This is a free forum for all of you to use and Vlad and I are very open to many new designers, or people who want to promote their sites, etc; hell we even gave the Marketplace a try which was not in any way helping us. But when someone comes to our site and attempts to 'scam' us so to speak (that is *my* term I will use for the situation) we want to alert the members and deal with the situation.

We did talk to the owner before we banned her, to which she continued to deny her affiliation with the company FYI.

This was just for everyone's information... do what you'd like with it

Thank you for telling me. I did agree with you that you never what the outsome is when SM is applied to bags over a long period of time.

If it's specially made of car interior, than let it be. Even if it's for bags, it is difficult to predict how it will behave. Once I applied a leather protector product (bought at a reputable store, I don't want to mention name anymore) and applied it to my freakin $$$ bag. The bag turned from the light yellow to beige to now with a white film all over it.

When I hear about SM I was so excited and forgot my previous lesson. But now... no more chemicals. I am just sticking to the eraser and try to be careful.

You quote me before, of course I'm gonna react, plain and simple. If you have the guts to say who it is that you mean by trolls, then stand up and say it. Don't play the same music over and over again coz you sound like a broken record!

And a lil FYI, I did join this board on March 2006. Some chick from here stole my damn photo and a friend of mine notified me of the situation. I came here to defend myself and clear up the situation. That's the reason I joined in the 1st place. I then frequented the Hermes room and have met a lot of lovely ladies there.

If you or anyone still has issues, feel free to PM me. I'm outta this thread.

I think you are reading too deeply into the term troll. Somehow only the two of you (you and Carol) are the ones picking battles with me. Stop trying to pick a fight with me. I'll say it again. It is highly unscupulous of the owner of Shining Monkey to not disclose her identity and affiliation with the product from the get-go. I don't know what relations you have with Shining Monkey, nor do I care. Seems like this whole thing should be appropriately named Dull Ape. Interesting how you have to keep defending yourself and trying to "clear up the situation"... And that is the end of that.
