I don't see a big deal or a conflict of interest. If I own a business that has thousands of products and I'm NOT the inventor of those products, I would want complaints/questions, etc. directed to the proper channels, namely the customer service department of the site in question. To that end, I don't see the problem in not disclosing ownership. As well, don't jump to the conclusion that she came to this site JUST to peddle Shining Monkey. She joined for the same reason anybody else did, to talk about handbags. She never brought it up, nor did anybody from "that other forum."
For example, If I own stock in Toyota, do you think that I want every idiot whose transmission went out on their Camrys calling me up to complain?
YES, I know the member in question and consider her a friend, but that doesn't mean that I'm blindly allegiant to anybody. I would argue this even if I didn't know the person and was just coming to this thread for the first time. The fact is that many members here are saying, "OH, thank goodness I didn't use it on my bag" when really the mods decision was made because of BUSINESS PRACTICES, not because of the product. They didn't agree with the fact that she didn't disclose herself; not with whether or not the product was good.
Use the product yourself and if you don't like it, fine. But, don't just go by what any person (mod or not) tells you.
As well, ask yourselves how many of you would find this so egregious, unscrupulous, and TERRIBLE if the mods weren't saying it was egregious, unscrupulous, and TERRIBLE.
