I try VERY hard... not always easy really.

 I would have exploded by now for sure!

Like now....I can't not say this....do you think you ought to make new sub-forums labeled "high school rantings", "pre-tweenie fits", and "veiled attempts at playing dumb"?

Feel free to edit me if I'm out of line...... :censor:

Thank you for that Danielle!
BRAVO!

I should respect the mods but they don't need to respect me? WRONG!!! WRONG< WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a problem following the PF rules never said I did- but I certainly won't tolerate behavior that is unwarranted. Nothing I have said in any of the former posts were threatening, rude, or disrespectful.
I also see that some of the members *won't name names* have been less than polite when they disagree and sling mud. This is all so very one sided.     :graucho: :D

I really wonder if you read this thread after you posted it and realized that you are acting like a hypocrite with your words. You say that you have never been 'threatening, rude, or disrepectful' but this entire post is just that. Also you claim you won't name names, but half your post was just names to begin with before edited- so please explain the point of this post. The start of this thread was not for yelling, name-calling, or rudeness... but turns out some people love doing that.

I don't see a big deal or a conflict of interest. If I own a business that has thousands of products and I'm NOT the inventor of those products, I would want complaints/questions, etc. directed to the proper channels, namely the customer service department of the site in question. To that end, I don't see the problem in not disclosing ownership. As well, don't jump to the conclusion that she came to this site JUST to peddle Shining Monkey. She joined for the same reason anybody else did, to talk about handbags. She never brought it up, nor did anybody from "that other forum."

Actually, the owner said many times she wanted to push her product here. So you are not right in that statement and we really don't need to get into further details- other than the fact that we know what was said and saw it.

As well, ask yourselves how many of you would find this so egregious, unscrupulous, and TERRIBLE if the mods weren't saying it was egregious, unscrupulous, and TERRIBLE.

I'm pretty annoyed with everyone who finds fault to keep trying to say that there are no other opinions allowed here and the mods have such a tight leash on the members- not the truth, but think what you want. The word terrible was never used by the way, I just said 'BAD BUSINESS ETHICS" and still think it is that.

i'm just glad that the mods and vlad are around. i think i'll stay with what i know and trust--apple garde (and i have no affiliation whatsoever with this brand). in fact, i have no affliliation with anything. :graucho:

For example, If I own stock in Toyota, do you think that I want every idiot whose transmission went out on their Camrys calling me up to complain?

YES, I know the member in question and consider her a friend, but that doesn't mean that I'm blindly allegiant to anybody. I would argue this even if I didn't know the person and was just coming to this thread for the first time. The fact is that many members here are saying, "OH, thank goodness I didn't use it on my bag" when really the mods decision was made because of BUSINESS PRACTICES, not because of the product. They didn't agree with the fact that she didn't disclose herself; not with whether or not the product was good.

Use the product yourself and if you don't like it, fine. But, don't just go by what any person (mod or not) tells you.

As well, ask yourselves how many of you would find this so egregious, unscrupulous, and TERRIBLE if the mods weren't saying it was egregious, unscrupulous, and TERRIBLE.

John

Good grief! Do none of the "friends" understand business ETHICS? Or HONESTY?

And FYI...MOST of the members here DO have minds of their own and don't blindly follow the mods as implied.

However...it's clear that some blindly follow their "friends"!

No editing... I was about to explode but then I got a cookie and felt better. Ha. Sometimes I just have to walk away and realize that this is no big deal in the greater scheme of life

I know HF has a "Drama section" of the forum and when threads start getting nasty they get moved there. That way people who want drama can go visit that part of the site, and everyone else can just overlook it. With all the drama that's been going on PF lately, maybe we should have a section like that too?

That isn't what I said at all. Rather, what I said is that a lot of the people who are finding fault with this whole issue are doing so because you guys are finding fault with it.

If I came onto the forum and said, "I have a big problem with this Shining Monkey business" probably 5 people might post, 2 of which might agree for whatever reason (I am sexy and urbane, after all :D ) and the other three would probably disagree with me because I'm not a mod. There is a strange psychology that many members have related to mods, one that isn't necessarily always healthy or good for members OR for mods. Everybody is human and makes mistakes, after all, and sometimes members can take what you say TOO literally, not literally enough, or out of context and then RUN with it.

Anyway, I'm sure that you guys do the best you can running the forum, but on this issue you are simply incorrect and reading too much, or not enough, into everything. I'm sure everybody involved is ready for this thread to pass away, so this will be my last post on it.

I understand where you are coming from, but many members on a board of this size do like to see that Mods are watching what goes on, behind the scenes so to speak. So what we have said may not even be everything we know, we actually may know much more and just not disclosed it :flowers:

Actually, I bet if you came on the forum and said you had a problem many people would post... people would not just ignore you. And this was not a problem with the product, a problem we had with the owner and ethics (and for everyone's information we did try to work it out first but the owner continued to deny affiliation).

On this issue, we read more than we needed to see- this thread was more than warranted and we acted much nicer than we even needed to IMO.

what I said is that a lot of the people who are finding fault with this whole issue are doing so because you guys are finding fault with it.

I'm not that articulate, but I will try my best to address that sentence.

People are not finding fault with the whole issue due to Vlad's announcement. The behavior associated with the peddling of this product and the blatant lack of any business ethics is what we're finding fault with.

Put the blame where the blame is due. Doesn't anyone take responsibility for their actions anymore? Is it the cop's fault you get a speeding ticket too?

Megs, we all get where you and Vlad are coming from and truly do appreciate it. Obviously you will not win with these people. They just dont seem to want to understand. You can lead a horse to water, BUT you can't make him drink.

They seem to enjoy the drama and seem pretty darn experienced with it. I guess they like expressing their "differerence of opinion".

I for one appreciate the mods looking out for the member's best interests. I wish Ebay would follow your lead.

Perhaps "Padded Room" might be the most appropriate?
