Hello there! Here's another 5-0 next year!! Shopmom, we're not alone...!!!

My great-grandfather was Master of Hounds!

I am not really sure whether to thank you all or not! Following your good advices I have picked up some delicious scarves, and I am pondering plenty plenty more: all urge, no restraint! All of the sellers you have recommended have some lovely stock and are clearly great to deal with. Luxury-scarves.com has incredible stock but am I reading correctly that he doesn't take credit cards? I am in the sometimes unenviable position of living in South Africa and bankdrafts etc are a real drag from here. On the bright side, I manage to get to Europe a couple of times a year and will in fact be in Zurich quite soon so I can make a plan.....

flossy, I am not looking for anything special, really, except equestrian ones I don't already have - although I am mad for all of the Phillippe Ledoux ones.

If I can ask you all a favour - do not, please, get me hooked on the bags or you'll really have me in trouble at the bank!!

Thanks again, your help is fantastic!:yahoo:

Ledoux is my favourite aswell; my first H scarf, a present from my ex parents in law back in 1978/79, was "Armes de Chasse" probably my favourite to this day....I also have "Wedgewood" by Ledoux, and another equestrian theme "Equitation Japonaise" which is lovely aswell (not Ledoux) I'll try and post pics of them later...

Wow! I have definitely found the right forum for me, it really ticks all the boxes: warm and friendly, never a hint of *****iness, generous sharing of info and sources, a fair bit of equestrian interest, and a couple of us verging on the big 5-0.
On top of all that: absolutely impeccable taste!

I think we should set up a Hermes scarf gallery, and maybe also get a list of good and bad buyers going: there are some horrors on e-bay. although I know some are great. Incidentally, there is one person on e-bay at the moment who lets you choose which colour you want once your bid is successful; sounds a bit iffy to me.

2703 - thanks for checking Paypal, I will be on to them in a flash!
Duna- put on one of your delicious Ledoux, and, if you can, find a riding school quickly; riding is in your genes, clearly.I started again after a 20-something year break and its the best thing I've done in years.

An Hermes scarf gallery will end up being sssoooooooo long. But I like the idea.

hermesgroupie, is there such a thing as too much Hermes eye candy?!

gracekelly, you should have ago at riding again! However I am not sure if we should tie our scarves as does Queen Elizabeth. I tried it once and I looked like some sort of ancient peasant, not a good look! Some people do it with aplomb. You may be one of them, but not me, alas...

Hello hello 2703! Nice picture of you (presumably) jumping there on a handsome beast.
I had a peak at your scarves - yummy! I love "Jumping", I found it a while back in the blue/brown and am awaiting its arrival. Parcels take weeks to get to us, no instant gratification for me.
Happy hunting!

 Have to take the ends and tie behind to get the Audrey Hepburn look with the large sunglasses:p That works for me;) If the ends are not tied back, one can look like either the dustbin lady or one that takes in washing:yucky: Have only ridden with an English saddle. I knew there was a reason to hold on to my stirrup pants. Have the hacking jacket, boots. gloves, scarves...I'M READY:yahoo:

I started putting up my scarves in the Member's items list.

I shall do also, but since I have been collecting for decades, it will take me a while. OK, I'm not really that OLD! :hysteric: I started as a teenager. I love plisse scarves as well and they will be much harder to take a pic of. I may need the DH to hold it down for me whilst I snap away:yes:

gracekelly, it sounds like you are indeed ready. DO it! I needed a lot of encouragement to get back in the saddle, and looking back I can't imagine why I was hesitant. After all, we can just trot around or have a slow ride through the hills, we don't have to jump insane jumps a la 2703.
If you think about it, it's really just another way to give the Hermes scarves a really good outing. Please give us a full report when you've done it.

I need to get a crop. It's not for the horse, it's for me:rolleyes: I may need someone to give me a whack to finally get on:graucho: Next thing you know, I'll be looking a Hermes saddles:yes:  Owning a horse is the only habit more expensive than buying the Hermes handbags:roflmfao:
