Scarves - reputable dealers

Hello all,

My first post here after lurking for a little while. I have recently been hit by overwhelming lust for a Hermes scarf (or two or three!!). Before I do anything silly I was wondering whether anyone had traded with Cazb3 before on ebay http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/cazb3/.

Feedback looks fine and it looks like she deals with people that collect Hermes scarves, but I would be very grateful if anyone could chip in with any further experience with this seller. I googled her and came up with a list of allegedly reputable Hermes resellers of which she is mentioned as one, but I'm not sure how reliable it is - here if anyone is interested: http://www.geocities.com/globalsunset/knownauthenticHsellers.html

Many thanks in advance!

Leo

^^^ Just wanted to report that I DID have contact with greenjade last night, YEAH!! - So am hopeful in getting all misunderstandings resolved.

To be continued.................

^^^ Must report that everything was fairly and quickly resolved once contact was made. I will definately buy from greenjade again.

I was outbid on one of his - he seems very nice (in emails) and sells quite a few scarves. Haven't heard any authenticity qs raised as to his scarves, either. That said, I've never actually purchased one yet!

Omg he has Sichuan:love: I think there was a discussion about him earlier, but can´t seem to find it, I think a link was posted or something.

I searched in several threads but couldn't find any reference to him. I'll just go ahead and use the authentication thread on individual scarves then.

I did a search and found some posts on Luxury-scarves. It sounds like their scarves are authentic? I had a couple of questions for anyone who has any experience with them:

1. when they list that their scarves are brand new, does that mean that the scarves still have the Hermes inventory tags on them? or does it mean that the scarves supposedly have not been used?

2. When they say that there is a "S" stamp on the back of the scarves, does that mean that the scarves were sold at a Hermes Sale? Does that lower the value of the scarves at all?

3. It sounds like from the posts in here that they don't provide boxes with the scarves?

Thank you so much everyone for any help you can provide! I really appreciate it!

^^^I've only purchased from luxury-scarves once but will try to answer your questions:

1. Not sure about this; the scarf I purchased was used. I would guess the latter.

2. The S stamp is for sale scarves. Whether it lowers the value is really up to the market; I don't think it does so much for designs/colorways that are in demand because there's usually nothing else wrong with the scarf. The original buyer would only have paid 60% of the retail price, so they often sell for less because buyers expect to pay less for them.

3. I think I remember them saying (they were at a NYC meet a few months ago) that they don't routinely provide boxes just because of the expense of shipping them, but they have boxes on hand, so if you're willing to pay extra to ship them you can ask for one.

From my experience, Hermes inventory tags are not always included when you purchase a scarf, even new at the boutique. It depends on the store and the SA- sometimes the tags come off in handling, sometimes they are removed. I would say maybe 50% of my new from boutique scarves have these tags on them. In my opinion, "new" would mean unworn, "like new" would mean worn gently, no flaws.
As for the "S" tag, yes it does diminish the collector's value some, unless it is an extremely rare scarf in which case, expect to pay a premium with or without "S" stamps.
On your other questions, Capulet is right on the money. Although I have not bought from L-Z (yet!) I have also met them and I think that they would be happy to answer any questions you had about an item.

Thank you Capulet and elle tee! I know I could have asked them but I wanted to see if anyone else has had any experience with them. There are two of their scarves that I love but that S stamp makes me hesitate. You guys really helped me with my decision!
