A Vos Crayons and Belles du Mexique complement each other beautifully!

A Vos Crayons (Leigh P. Cooke 2004) and Belles du Mexique (Virginie Jamin 2007) reissued as 45s. These are my "sigh" scarves because I paid more than I should have for both. Crayons was in boutiques around the world, but not in the US. I desperately wanted one, so I bought off Ebay. Patience would have been better. I was crazy about Belles because the listing pictures made the fuchsia belles stand out. IRL the border stands out. I am still happy with them. I would just be happier if I didn't notice the prices when I look at pictures of my collection.

I am going to share a pic that is not me or my silks. It is my inspiration for two gavs together. Tried tying my to get this look and can't. I seem to have too much silk. I just love this.

Finally, an off topic sharing. The sun came out yesterday and is still here today....First time in what seems like two months. Good morning Mr. Sunshine. You brighten up my day. Gloria Soli aka Carpe Diem.

That’s terrific @Redbirdhermes! I have been on a lonely island lamenting what I consider to be H’s misleading moniker ‘double-faced’ scarves. I have one of the original Della Cavalaria Favolosa’s which is a true double-faced iteration; the wording on the ‘reverse’ can be read, it’s not a mirror image. I thought that was an incredible technical achievement. Your Formule Chic advances that effort even further, and it’s a marvel. I’m dismayed that there are other scarves that H calls double-sided (and charges accordingly for) that are not true double-sided scarves IMO, they just seem to have a wash of color on the reverse. It would be fun to see some sort of metiers exhibit explaining the difference, I’d love to be educated.
Thank you, textilegirl. I pulled out my Della Cavalleria Favolosa and the reverse design itself is a mirror image, other than the scarf title. It's not like the artist had to draw an entirely new design for the second side, as Dimitri Rybaltchenko did for Formule Chic. I've been on a DF hiatus for the past year, hoping for another true DF, as you suggest. It might be a long wait.

Good morning Scarflandia!

Goodness - I have a hard act to follow this week after @HermesEchidna, absolutely fantastic week of STEM! Thank you so much for an amazing week!

This week we double our fun!

1.21.24 - Double the Fun - wear two scarves of any size (mixed formats welcome) or a doubleface.

Double our fun - woot! Oddly enough my Sunday morning started on an auspicious note…

Yeahhhhh… it’s very cold!
So what’s a scarfie to do?
Well - wear two!
I won’t scold,
But do as you’re told
Be bold!

Ohmigosh - it’s too early for cheesy poetry
(Never!!)

Anywho - this week we’re doubling up, we’re wearing our double faces (and there’s a subset - the two faces of Janus?),

so here’s an impromptu photo from the airport last night! I’m wearing two sweaters, a jacket, Le Jaguar et Colibri AND a cape with a darling fox collar!

Let’s double our fun this week Scarflandia,
And remember whatever H you’re wearing it’s always on theme!
Stay warm cuties!!
Great intro! I love love LOVE what you did there with 2 90s!! Determined to try that this week!!!

To maintain an acceptable cost-per-wear when one has one neck, a double helps the H math

Sharing a double face - Brandenbourgs Fleuris in Blue Jean and Tabac. Happy Sunday everyone!!

What colors!!! All!! Glorious!!!

I am cleaning and organizing ye olde bedroom and scarf drawers on this freezing Sunday. Turtleneck on even inside my home today!
I was trying to cull one of these gavs, but alas it proved impossible with this darn doubles week!!
I really like the two together.
I was trying to do @LKBNOLA ’s double gav look with the ?butterflywings tie? n chain d’ancre scarf ring. But I only have this tiny one or a really heavy one which would be too heavy for gavs. And I couldn’t get enough scarf through the small hole.

Happy Sunday! It's been too busy for me to comment on everyone's STEM scarves! Thank goodness for the like options. @HermesEchidna - what a fantastic week, I hope you host more theme weeks in the future. I enjoyed everyone's stories.

Yesterday's scarf - Jaguar et le Colibri for a very cold day out.

Archive Patisserie for today's new theme.

The JetC shawl combined with your fur collar is very pretty.

FABulous - these two CdeC are beautiful together!
Thank you for your kind words - I look forward to seeing just what I inspired! :giggle:
TY @Cookiefiend - tomorrow shall be double gav day!

@Cordeliere those gavs are PERFECT together! Worth every penny (I am another for whom patience is not a virtue so I totally get the price angst - and like Cookie says, if it makes you happy the price is irrelevant)

I’m also inspired by others’ double gav looks and I struggle to replicate. I usually do a bias fold and both folds unfold the second they are around my neck. I think I need a bigger knot and/or to consider different folds to start with

@SilkCouture what a beautifully soft look! This is a great DF design
I joined the Double Face Club finally this autumn while visiting Sevres. I fell hard for these kitties and somehow the euro made the (previous) price increase less onerous. I’m looking forward to this week to see how you DF experts show both sides of these things…. Douze Léopards

@Pirula TY for the lovely words and congrats on a great foray into DF waters. Those pinks are divine! And love how well the feathers work with winter wear

Wow @Nomad those double giraffes are fantastic! Don’t part with either!

Here's a collage I recently made to corral my "leap" of leopards. I fell hard for these cuties and their bookcase full of artifacts and objects-- their "room" reminds me a bit of my own workspace! I've had two cws of the CSGM and now have two times double the fun with two doubleface 90s... (I sound like a Doublemint gum jingle! for those who remember...)

When I travel, I usually pack at least one of my DF designs because it is like packing two scarves in one-- enhancing the styling options (not that silks take up that much room, TBH).
These are all so gorgeous and every time you model them, my “need” increases 😂

What a week! @HermesEchidna amazing hosting, thanks so much. I have been in bed since my last post with a flu and it’s quite debilitating. Thank you for all of the love on last post, wish I could reply to more in real time. @Cookiefiend excited for doubles week. Have attached some archival pics of my two della cavaleria double faces. The 2020/2021? issuance, not the current season.
ETA - Archive of tiger double face also.
Stunning df scarves and wishing you a speedy recovery.

They’re adorable together and so cute!
Definitely keepers!
Not good with selfies so pardon the photo but I have been wearing many of my older cashmere 140's with my sweats and pj's lately to keep me warm in the bitter cold of January. Today is “Chasse en Inde” - one of my faves.
It’s beautiful no matter what you’re wearing!

Woot! Double gavs for double the F.U.N.!

Welcome @Cookiefiend to Double our fun week. Your chilly 2 degree day reminds me of the joke we have about how it is twice as warm here, since our temperature is 4 degrees. (Okay, it’s actually over 5 times warmer, as it is now a balmy 11 degrees F. But I digress.)

I saved this double face automobile scarf for today as my crossover from Technology week. Formule Chic not only shows the leap forward in automobile technology as its theme, but also represents a leap forward in scarf printing technology.

View attachment 5934500View attachment 5934499

This is the first Hermès scarf with completely different designs on each side, a vintage automobile on one side, and a Formula One racing car on the other. It also has different colors on each side that compliments the different moods of the two cars. One is a leisurely drive down a country road, and the other is charging down the speedway.

I own a few more double face scarves, but they have the same design on each side. I’m sure it is easier to not have the artist do two different paintings for one scarf. Until we start seeing more true double design scarves, Formule Chic remains a unique treasure in my collection.

My scarf of the day is Formule Chic.

This is a treasure and I am so fond of the tree lined street and the vintage car aesthetics.
