A Vos Crayons (Leigh P. Cooke 2004) and Belles du Mexique (Virginie Jamin 2007) reissued as 45s. These are my "sigh" scarves because I paid more than I should have for both. Crayons was in boutiques around the world, but not in the US. I desperately wanted one, so I bought off Ebay. Patience would have been better. I was crazy about Belles because the listing pictures made the fuchsia belles stand out. IRL the border stands out. I am still happy with them. I would just be happier if I didn't notice the prices when I look at pictures of my collection.

I am going to share a pic that is not me or my silks. It is my inspiration for two gavs together. Tried tying my to get this look and can't. I seem to have too much silk. I just love this.

Finally, an off topic sharing. The sun came out yesterday and is still here today....First time in what seems like two months. Good morning Mr. Sunshine. You brighten up my day. Gloria Soli aka Carpe Diem.

Your gavroche pairing is very inspired and thank you for the sun scarf. It’s been absent here, too.

What a wonderful post and chockful of great information. Love that inquisitive leopard - “and gladly would he learn” paraphrasing Chaucer, I think. Your examples are truly en pointe, HE, and I love your cw of LVdP - congratulations! We are sisters snd I love both of mine, but yours is indeed jollyily colorful. What a design! Such a grail.
I took my more worn one, the light blue, to Iceland and it was perfect, standing on the Reynisfyara black sand beach, imagining the Norse settlers coming here for the first time.

Here is my other cw, taupe, love the red in this one.

Oh, there’s just something about a black sand beach that I find incredibly restful. Iceland is still on the bucket list, but I am very partial to the black sand beaches in Hawaii…
You look, wonderful, @Karenska !

What a week! @HermesEchidna amazing hosting, thanks so much. I have been in bed since my last post with a flu and it’s quite debilitating. Thank you for all of the love on last post, wish I could reply to more in real time. @Cookiefiend excited for doubles week. Have attached some archival pics of my two della cavaleria double faces. The 2020/2021? issuance, not the current season.
ETA - Archive of tiger double face also.
love these on you, @Foxy trini ! Twinson the TR. Must learn how to tie this as you so with his eye showing.

Late to contributing to STEM week, here is my new Alternateur, which the Boston boutique happened to have. I just love the blue side of this scarf. Not sure of the other side yet, but seeing just a little is fun!
And I now realize I am miraculously on topic for this week!

ooh, I’ve been so tempted by this one @frenchgirl. It’s the medium-wide white border that gives me pause, but the blue and cyclamen (?) pink are so lovely and fun together. The yellow I could live without, but you’ve done a great job of minimizing it here. Please do post more mod shots when you can!

Welcome @Cookiefiend to Double our fun week. Your chilly 2 degree day reminds me of the joke we have about how it is twice as warm here, since our temperature is 4 degrees. (Okay, it’s actually over 5 times warmer, as it is now a balmy 11 degrees F. But I digress.)

I saved this double face automobile scarf for today as my crossover from Technology week. Formule Chic not only shows the leap forward in automobile technology as its theme, but also represents a leap forward in scarf printing technology.

This is the first Hermès scarf with completely different designs on each side, a vintage automobile on one side, and a Formula One racing car on the other. It also has different colors on each side that compliments the different moods of the two cars. One is a leisurely drive down a country road, and the other is charging down the speedway.

I own a few more double face scarves, but they have the same design on each side. I’m sure it is easier to not have the artist do two different paintings for one scarf. Until we start seeing more true double design scarves, Formule Chic remains a unique treasure in my collection.

My scarf of the day is Formule Chic.

I love his one, for both theme and execution. As you say, the only true double-face, as the sides are actually different. I love the dynamism and perspective on both sides. A great design, and I’m glad you have this one, @Redbirdhermes. It suits you so well 👍

Well, these are just fabulous together, Cordy! Who cares what they cost - they look super and if they make you happy, enjoy them!

I am cleaning and organizing ye olde bedroom and scarf drawers on this freezing Sunday. Turtleneck on even inside my home today!
I was trying to cull one of these gavs, but alas it proved impossible with this darn doubles week!!
I really like the two together.
I was trying to do @LKBNOLA ’s double gav look with the ?butterflywings tie? n chain d’ancre scarf ring. But I only have this tiny one or a really heavy one which would be too heavy for gavs. And I couldn’t get enough scarf through the small hole.

Oh, thank you, Lellabelle ❤️.

@Croisette7 @Cookiefiend @SilkCouture @Pirula @Snausages @Maedi @Lellabelle

Thank you so much for your appreciation of this pairing. Your enthusiasm makes me feel really good.

The lessons in Hermes math are much appreciated. You are right. I should not pay any attention to price after purchase. I am generally such a careful shopper that I can turn around and re-sell without a loss. That is what bothers me--I can't do that with these two. But if I am not selling, it really doesn't matter. Thanks for talking sense into me.

That is such a great pairing, and you look great!
Ignore those prices - they mean nothing if you love the scarf!
(on another note tho - I keep a spreadsheet - each time I wear a scarf the cost is reduced!)

Thank you frenchgirl! :flowers:

Thank you so much Croisette! :winkiss:

Gorgeous and a perfect match with your sweater!
@Cordeliere , I Agree with @Cookiefiend. It’s cost per wear that counts. I love your pairing!

Oooh, I’d love to see it modeled, dear Mabel Jo. The exhibit was really special, but I would like to report that for anyone planning on or thinking about traveling to London in the near future, the exhibit travels to Tate Britain and ooens Feb 22 until the first week of July.
Hi @Karenska, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and colleague. It's such a sad thing, one that I experienced twice in the past 2 years. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences. :hugs:

Life keeps getting in the way of my scarf fun so I'm just now getting you this pic, my apologies for the delay. Here's my Objects de Curiosites, which I absolutely adore, especially the bee border (mostly the naughty bees who wander). I've really enjoyed wearing it lately with a purple top, I like the contrast with the hem.

Good morning!!!
Thank you @Cookiefiend for kicking off double week. I look forward to see great pairings and tips and tricks on how to wear I had never thought about!!
Cold and rainy - that is a double trouble in itself and not scarf friendly. I will wrap a ginormous wollen thing around me and my scarf today. Will spare you the sight.
Underneath is sotd Tropiques chosen to match new giraffe earrings (a double?!).
Have a Day of double fun!!

Beautiful gav pairing!!! These are just perfect, the colors look like an exact match.

Sharing a double face - Brandenbourgs Fleuris in Blue Jean and Tabac. Happy Sunday everyone!!

Stunning look with the blue sweater!

I joined the Double Face Club finally this autumn while visiting Sevres. I fell hard for these kitties and somehow the euro made the (previous) price increase less onerous. I’m looking forward to this week to see how you DF experts show both sides of these things…. Douze Léopards

These look really good! I’m impressed with the pulling off of the ‘impossible knot’ with two gavs.

Starting the week with a first-time wear and my first double face scarf - Splash Park.

I'm a little apprehensive about such a light-coloured silk, so I've gone for a loose drape-knot to try and keep it makeup-free.

Wishing everyone a successful Monday!

Beautiful serene colors! Thank for modeling this side, hadn’t seen much of it yet.
