My first scarf mail of 2024 has arrived and it is certainly a fun design.

This is Kawa Ora in my favorite colorway. This design was still on h.com when I began collecting, but the colors were fairly picked over so I passed at that time. Delighted to find it now. I must like these colors, because they are the same as my Le Carnaval de Venise that I wore earlier in the week.

Yesterday's scarf mail was the Limited Edition version of Space Derby that was available in Hong Kong last year. There is an inscription on the lead chariot that reads "Hermes for a brighter future". The colors are very similar similar to the dark blue regular edition of Space Derby. I added a couple of comparison photos.



I tried to track down this LE last year when it was on the Hong Kong website but was unsuccessful. I am so delighted it finally came my way. Introducing Space Derby Hong Kong LE as my scarf of the day.

From the H spring/summer 2003 booklet:
In 1748 the boarders and the French Academy at Rome (then housed in the Medici Palace and not yet the Medici Villa) offered their new director a "Turkish Cavalcade". Framing the festivities (a great success all the way to the Square of St. Peter's!), are the pupils ar the top, wearing their ordinary uniform, and below, dressed up as sultans, janissaries, pashas, viziers and other mufti. As for the eunuch costume, the boys seem not to have exhibited much ardour in disputing the privilege.

This design was a gem from the spring/summer collection. Being an actual event in history, Hermes was compelled to accurately depict the costumes of the period as well as the scene framed in the centre of the design.

When I fell down the orange slope last spring, Sous le Charme d’Orphee was instant love and because it came out not that long ago, I was quickly able to locate 2 of the 3 colorways I wanted, but this one eluded me…. Until now!!!!! Debuting my third of this lovely design, in the red/coral/mint/gray colorway. Inspiration originally from @Cookiefiend !!!

Congratulations! I love this one SO much and also went on a hunt for it when it was released. If I didn’t already have the marine, I would have been sorely tempted, even at the prices they go for! They are so similar, I couldn’t justify it though (the extra cost of buying in HK and then actually getting it here was prohibitive). I do think the SE has a little advantage over the marine, in that rainbow hem. It’s the best hem of all the options. I’d be deeply jealous if I wasn’t so happy for you

Coming home to New Orleans always makes me very happy. Reconnecting with scarves and clothes I've been away from also lifts my spirits! Finding Scarf Mail waiting upon arrival makes me super happy Introducing my new-to-me cw of New Orleans Creole Jazz (1996 edition) which is a bonus scarf-on-site because I wore it in New Orleans this morning ...
