From the H spring/summer 2003 booklet:
In 1748 the boarders and the French Academy at Rome (then housed in the Medici Palace and not yet the Medici Villa) offered their new director a "Turkish Cavalcade". Framing the festivities (a great success all the way to the Square of St. Peter's!), are the pupils ar the top, wearing their ordinary uniform, and below, dressed up as sultans, janissaries, pashas, viziers and other mufti. As for the eunuch costume, the boys seem not to have exhibited much ardour in disputing the privilege.
This design was a gem from the spring/summer collection. Being an actual event in history, Hermes was compelled to accurately depict the costumes of the period as well as the scene framed in the centre of the design.

Opting for the red was a great choice for me, especially since this color wasn't available at the time. I'm really excited to see more model shots of this colorway when you're ready – no pressure at all!

It’s my first time posting in Scarflandia! I just wanted to share that all of the drool-worthy posts here of the Animapolis scarf (you all are secret enablers) have led me to purchase my first H silk! Up until now, I’ve been a cashmere girlie!
Also not pictured is my first scarf ring! I’m excited to learn all the styles through your posts! I’m so inspired by this community.
Hopefully it still counts as my in-theme scarf of the day if I’m not ready to wear her yet… I feel like I need more time just to admire the print!
