Good morning!!!

Today, as a native Dane, I embrace the hygge @Karenska introduced yesterday. December is the annual peak of Hygge - treats, candles, friends, family and cosy blankets and other wollen garments. In this spirit I wear a Big warm scarf today. For every cashmere the drink of choise must be glögg - mulled wine - but as it is 7.30 in the morning I will settle for the other hygge drink tea….

These days a part of the hygge is to wrap the presents for next week and the frantic knitting of the last ones. These socks will not be ready….

Håber, I alle får en hyggelig dag!
(Wish you all a Day of hygge)
Your post makes me feel all cozy and even more appreciative of the season.

Today is a busy day for me and I am having lunch with my mother’s cousins, two sisters, one 70 and the other 90, so it will be hyggelig. I’m so excited to see them! I know what I am wearing, scarf-wise, but will save for later. I will leave you with this very important decision to ponder. Which wintry or holiday scarf would you pair with this seasonal drink? @HermesEchidna has already shown us one of her choices! :winkiss:

Mulled white wine
Yield:
About 6 cups (6 to 8 servings)

2 teaspoons whole coriander seed
1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
½ teaspoon fennel seeds
6 whole allspice berries
2 (750-milliliter) bottles dry white wine
1 cup/8 ounces blanc vermouth
¼ cup/2 ounces honey, preferably acacia or a lighter honey
2bay leaves
¼ cup/2 ounces elderflower liqueur
2 tablespoons/1 ounce fresh lime juice

Step 1
In a large Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot set over medium-high heat, add the coriander seeds, peppercorns, fennel seeds and allspice. Toast, stirring frequently, until the spices are fragrant, 2 to 3 minutes
Step 2
Add the wine, vermouth, honey, and bay leaves to the pan. Stir, bring to a simmer, then adjust the heat to low and continue to very gently simmer for 30 minutes. Strain the mulled wine through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the solids and return to the pan. Stir in the elderflower liqueur and lime juice, and serve warm.

(This recipe from Rebekah Peppler was in the New York Times just a couple of days ago and promises to be a “lighter and brighter” version of the traditional drink, given the substitution of red wine for white.)

Have a silky day!
This sounds delicious. Hopefully, I can try and make it in the next weeks. Just mulling over Elderberry liqueur.

This is not technically a winter scarf - being Splash Park I suppose it’s the opposite, but I’m so excited to have a scarf that more or less coordinates with my Norwegian sweater! These patterns are intricate and I never feel like any H scarves really go with them.

Oh, I think it works beautifully, Jereni. Some of the sketchy graphics in the scarf complement the strong blue and white blocks, and the color of it adds contrasting interest to a patterned sweater. Very wintry and lovely, despite the scarf’s summer theme. And tgat is a beautiful sweater. It has presence!

My Christmas grail scarf is the snow globe of busy shoppers surrounded by a Christmas tree filled with snow flocked branches, brown Buldoc and tiny Christmas toys.

Noel au 24 Faubourg in red is my holiday scarf of the day.

A little extra - I was delighted to see the Christmas greetings and sleigh on the brown Buldoc from a recently received scarf box.

This must be the most beautiful cw of this grail. It’s just yummy. You look beautiful in it, dear Rbh, and I love that ribbon.

Gorgeous, twin. This was my first bandana shawl and the one that sent me led me down the primrose path of these beauties @Nomad!!!! I love the green stars and the paisley that feels like snowflakes in this photo...

How can you not have a wonderful time-- Paris in December! You look beautiful @Cookiefiend-- love the moussie and blue sweater combo...

Gorgeous shawl and thank you for the good wishes @HermesEchidna...

This is a gorgeous winter-y blue @amdmarques -- I think hot chocolate is my drink of choice too!

Thank you for these wonderful close ups @darkstar66!

Cannot wait to see and it is so nice to "see" oyu here @momasaurus!

I love this @Karenska! My DH made quite a lot of fun of me one year when I bought a bottle of Saint Germain elderflower liquer simply because I adored the shape of the bottle on my bar cart...

I love this too @Redbirdhermes-- no overboxes in my order this year but I was happy for the ribbon. I am delighted to be sisters on this beautiful holiday grail. This is a very festive colorway!

Very festive and pretty @SilkCouture (a reindeer sleigh!!!!-- I forgot about this detail, so thank you!)
Lkb, I like only a very few spirits, but I agree that the packaging can be so inviting.

Two holiday brights for me today!!! One new-to-me and a bit of a trompe l'oeil "hygge" as it appears to be a nice warm knit! Totally enabled by @Redbirdhermes, I was absolutely delighted to find Au Coin du Feu in the wonderful red cw!

I forgot about the sleigh on this one! I'll have to see if it is on my muffler or not.
