View attachment 4294458 I’m hoping I can persuade the family to take a trip to Banus, where I can gasp in surprise and pretend I didn’t know there’s an H store...
 DH just says: " You have 20 min. Go to your H." It really focuses my mind in the dutyfree

My next favorite scarf from my 2018 purchases, Les Chants Du Henne. I looked for this for quite a while, and finally found it in Blood Orange and Cream in mousseline! Thé 90 cm size to boot!

This scarf reminds me of the very happy four years that I lived in Islamabad, Pakistan. The very close community of Americans and other ex-pats made me think of a Norman Rockwell small town. I was physically fit (even though my weight said I was morbidly obese). I was well respected, and people sought me out to personal train them, and came to my water aerobics and step aerobics classes. Many got their hands and feet painted with henna in designs such as those on this scarf!

And my other reason:. I received a dot of henna in my forehead, after walking on rose petals surrounded by the love of my classmates when I graduated from my 200 hour yoga teacher training!View attachment 4294538
Wishlisted this when you first posted, bobkat. Such a lovely cw of Chants du Henne!

I saw a photo of this cw of Triples on the Special Ed thread back in 2010. The OP said it was issued for a pediatric charity in Belgium. I haven't been able to find out much more about it, but if you search tpf, there are veeeerrry old threads back in 2005 which mention that it was issued in 2004 to benefit S.M.I.L.E.S association and identify the colour as French blue. The regular issue of Triples is dated as 2005.

I saw the Jonques in a 2015 SOTD thread and fell in love.

Doing research for scarves and SOTD is very dicey for my wallet
Thanks so much. As if I need more threads to tempt me. EEEK! As you said, SOTD is harmful enough, LOL!
But seriously - I do like your collex. So much variety and so personal.

Yup, I noticed the “stability” factor and this the main reason I’ve been considering it. Looks gorgeous!

How stunning is that!

Moma, @Cookiefiend chrstened it the Fifi Knot because yes, my favorite knots are where I keep loose ends tidy so I fiddled a bit with the original LOl
Well, I *do* like this fifi knot. Thanks!

Great picture!
Very pretty scarf, and quite a find. Wishlist!

Happy new year, dear scarf community. I enjoy your posts, knots, stories and personalities.
@bobcat, very moved by your stories and adore the mousseline
@HermesHope, your pivoines is beautiful
@papertiger, what a backdrop and scarf. I am growing a desire to see Scotland
@MOMA, love your knots and scarves
@lanit, I love all your choices and you inspired me to get the MP in that color way - thank you since I live 4 hrs from the boutique
Thank you to all and happy, healthy knotting.

Here are the scarves that I bought in 2018 - a mixture of new and used. I cannot decide on my favourite, although Jaguar Quetzal may be first past the finishing post. L’Ombre des Pivoines may eventually turn out to be my favourite for 2019, although I am cheating a bit and including it in this list as I bought it in 2018! But who knows?

Top row, L to R: Baobab Cat gavroche, La Femme aux Semelles de Vent, Jaguar Quetzal, A L’Ombre des Pivoines
Bottom row L to R: Persepolis, Bibliothéque gavroche, Coup de Fouet au Bloc twilly
What an amazing parade of lovelies! All gorgeous, but my favs are Jaguar Quetzal and Persepolis. I’ve been looking for a Persepolis for a while now and would love this CW!

View attachment 4294458 Swapped the cold dreary UK for Spanish sun, so a smaller format needed, Rendevous Rive Gauche seemed perfect for lunch at the beach. I’m hoping I can persuade the family to take a trip to Banus, where I can gasp in surprise and pretend I didn’t know there’s an H store...
Lucky you to be there! I love the H stores in spain! Everyone is so nice and gracious! Lovely silk... Enjoy!

Is there a demo for that scarf knot? I am knot-challenged. seriously. For a month now I kept a pix of @Cookiefiend's modeling of a brown Jardin d'hiver in my notebook trying to figure out how she did it (plus I like the j de h).
@Cookiefiend explains it so well! Although it’s quite simple

ohmigoodness - I'm so flattered! Now *I'm* curious - what tie was it?
(off to see if I saved a pic of Jd'H - i love that scarf too - such a marvelous mix of brown, blue and orange - which sounds awful but works so well)

It is so easy - truly.
Scarf in rectangle, put around your neck.
Grab the two closest to your neck ends, and tie in a knot.
Grab the other two ends and tie them.
Floof the scarf around a bit to show everything you want to see and BAM - yer done!

Was it this one?

That is Fifi’s Fabulous Double Knot [emoji4][emoji173]️[emoji4]
Gorgeousness!!

Oh, I love this anecdote! I closed my eyes and tried to picture the scene!

I *did* actually make your knot (the one with two small knots right near each other) the other day
e0e2e769f7249ece5aa9cb363fd4b92a.jpg

But I kept it loose. It lets you show parts of the scarf that are often hidden. Like the polar bear in the kayak. (Or is it a guy imitating a polar bear in a kayak?) Anyway, thank you!
We are twins on the Vie du Grand Nord. I see it looks surprisingly well with your dark top -- is that black? I've been playing around with mauve and rose-brown. Not totally satisfied with those combos.

2018 was also my Ugo Gattoni year. First of all, I got the fabulous Grand Prix from the SS 2018 but was missing Hippopolis although I’d been looking desperately for it. Six months later, it finally was mine!

Oooh - so jealous of the Hippopolis! Great score! (I do have a GP du F coming my way....hope to see it by Valentines.....hope hope hope....)

My last buys for 2018: A l'Ombre des Pivoines and Animapolis. SS19 is going to just slay me :frown:
Tied Pivoines a few different ways as I'd promised Fifi and @Satya83 that I'd try to do modshots.

These are lovely! They remind me of sepia tone pictures!

That l’ombre des Pivoines is just lovely! It has remarkable depth for a monochrome. The gold/brown bits are just as dramatic as the grey lines. Very interesting scarf. Is this new for SS2019?

Yes, my first purchases from the SS19 collex. This cw of Pivoines wasn't in my top three choices, but after realizing that the colours weren't true to life on the website all of 2018, my SA and I just reserve judgement till I eyeball the scarves IRL. I'd like to wear this under natural and incandescent lights to see the effect - suspect the colour tone will change dramatically. The first photo with the striped shirt is under white fluorescent at home, and the others are taken in my office under fluorescent daylight tubes.
