i got a scarf mail, it's MP gav, but i am not sure about cw, i love the purple, but it feels like too much of brown, what do you think?
i am going to play with it, trying various ways of folding and knotting, but at the moment i'm 50/50 about it. Any advice/suggestions are welcome!

Twins on this. I try to play up the purple border when I wear this (and I usually wear gavs in pairs). Will check what I wore it with last.

My fave purchase of 2018 is Animapolis but you've seen a couple pics of that recently. Here is my "most influential" purchase of the year, A Travers Champs which finally convinced me YES, I can do "colorful colors"! It broke my extensive blues-pastels-neutrals streak. I would not have sprung for Animapolis if I had not gotten this one first.

I have two true favourites this year, but I'm still too besotted with both, I haven't worn them! Selle de Dignitaire 90cm and, a happy discovery in an H airport shop, Della Cavalleria cw06 mousseline!

Amazing shade of purple! I would probably feel the same way you do about the brown at first glance, but like you said, would play with it a bit. It may surprise you! Please post pics later so we can better judge. MP is such a striking g design with so many possibilities!

So happy to celebrate my favorite new-to-me scarf of the year, the beautiful Tohu Bohu!

I saw this scarf on Jan's website and mentioned it to my husband as something I was casually interested in. Was upset when I checked a few days later and it was sold. Christmas morning was a very wonderful surprise!

I purchased most of my silks in spring (as usual), and also landed a grail or two in the process. Sending everyone warm wishes for the coming year. This thread remains my favorite to cheer and inspire me. Brava for the great work and posts!

Yes, mine has a cyclamen border whereas this one seems to have a blue or teal one.

Nope... The Miami edition is a distinct teal different from the others. Remember when I was trying to decide about the purchase and I consulted you about it? So glad I got it for it is a treasure! Thanks so much for your advice, @momasaurus!

I remember! Also that was my favorite CW, but it just didn't look good on me. So I love looking at yours and @scarf1's. Sigh. And this year one of the color families is Miami!

Thank you so much! I hope I can explain in a way that it’s understood because I’m not very good at providing clear instructions about knots. On all of these the scarf is folded once in a rectangle but the key is that instead of trying a knot, a scarf ring is used so that there is lots of material to flop around. The exception was Samouraïs which I actually knotted. The entire rectangle is used to make the knot and not only two of the corners with an emphasis on fanning out as much fabric as possible. Also, the knot is not the usual tight double knot, but more like a simple fold

Thanks! I thought it was something like that, and I'll try to find time to experiment. I like showing lots of scarf sometimes, and I'm determined to make more use of my scarf rings.

Yes, there's golden brown, but the other colors are superb! That rich purple! The deep teal! And we always love the minty green bits, right?

Beautiful pieces, lanit! I remember almost all of them, because your pix are so enchanting (and tempting). Perfect solution for that exceptional bandana. It is so pretty and different.

This year, I picked up quite a few oldies like the nameless scarf I showed last week. And I thought I'd completed collecting all the phoenixes I wanted - oh well, the best laid plans of mice and men...

This was my most significant purchase in terms of rarity. Sister to @lanit's Ecume. I'd drooled over that ethereal blue green watery cw since I saw pics of it in that quagmire of old tpf threads. I didn't think Croisette's pastel cw would suit me, but just maybe I could pull off "ethereal".
And then, I actually found the blue-green cw! Luckily, before I hurled my bank book at it, I found this other cw which I think is more me.
