For me this post means a bit of a reflection. I've been a naughty girl this year by my standards, because I have experienced what many here call the slippery slope of H. My collection went from this (right) to this... (left) (plus awoo and a gav for my leisure capsule)

I intend to slow down acquisitions from here on quite substantially, since a) I like the size of my collection as it is in terms of wearing frequency and options and b) I felt like having a mini meltdown calculating what I've spent on scarves this year lol. but hey. It's been a good year. The boys buy a fancy watch... (*enter justifications*)

here onto my favorites. I decided to break them into 4 categories, because essentially all of them are my favorites (which tells me I chose well)

1. the Oscar for "Workhorse of the year" goes to:
Jardin è Maharani Recadré CSGM

2. the Oscar for "Boutique find of the year" goes to:
Iris en Arc en Ciel Mousseline, which I discovered while in New York

3. the Oscar for "Grail" goes to:
Arbre du vent
IMG_8539.JPG
and lastly the Oscar for "surprise of the year" goes to
Acte III in cw07 (because who knew I liked yellow and turquoise!)

and some honorable mentions: Awooo - used most in my free time. Jardin a Sintra - best neutral. Mythique Phoenix CSGM - yummiest colors.

With that, I wish everybody a happy 2019, full of love, good health and joyful moments.

MP is so pretty as a pochette dear. I would suggest white linen for this colorway, and also think it would be superb on a straw hat as a hat band!
Fabulous idea!! Straw! of course! cork wedges, a straw bag, and/or hat, and this summer perfect cw! thank you for a worderful idea and helping me to justify keeping this lil beauty! :ty:

While I bought a lot of scarves this year (for me), I have been very happy with all but one....which I like a lot but haven't worn all that much. The others have all gotten a lot of use.

Many great pictures, like how you combine the scarves with your wardrobe.
My favourite is the first with the Samurais shawl!

Oscar for "Grail of the year" goes to the Mythiques Phoenix pareo, was love on first sight, so happy I finally found one:

Oscar for CSGM of the year goes to Jaguar Quetzal:
liked the drawing from the very first moment I got a glimpse on it in the new season scarf thread.
First I tried it on in the middle of January a duty free but passed (those mustardy orange leaves, "I need to like every corner when paying this price!", Took a look at it several more times ("Ah, I just cannot wear animal prints!"), always passed. The silk 90 also was only half perfect. I so wish they had put Alice's original CW to print...
Finally when I decided I do want it it had disappeared from the website and I was devastated. but I had already bought a green coat to match it (color is much deeper in real life). So when I finally found it in Berlin I was more than happy and have worn it very often ever since.
Happy new year!JQ full.jpg

I am so amazed at your iron will! One of the first pieces of advice an SA gave me was: "Buy only one scarf from each season". Perhaps she could foresee my helter-skelter slide down the orange slope...

If you believe thirteen is an unlucky number, then I have unluckily managed to amass that number of scarves this year - I think, because I started out getting one a month from January onwards. All bay finds apart from my two 140 silks, A Summer’s Day and Planisphere - and of course ogling the new season:-)

Well, the brighter colors are definitely gorgeous on you... And you embraced them with two splendid samples! Such beautiful shades in this one! Can't wait to see you model the Animapolis... Nevermind the other posts... We are looking forward to yours!

Thank you for your kind encouragement .... here is a mod shot from the SS2019 thread in that case

Guilty - as well as buying scarves I’ve treated myself to a very vintage watch - which I’d ogled for a while - an IWC rose gold 36 mm from 1956, so not only boys get to play with the mechanical stuff :-)
