While I bought a lot of scarves this year (for me), I have been very happy with all but one....which I like a lot but haven't worn all that much. The others have all gotten a lot of use.

Panthera Pardus 140 silk plume - I love the weight of the plume silk.

Savana Dance CSGM - love this crazy loud color combo

Every Samouraïs is spectacular... My favorite Hermès design of all time! But I especially love the Panthera Pardus worn with the animal print dress... A total hit!

The clock just struck 12 here in Singapore. I can hear the fireworks going off at our big celebration in town.
Happy New Year, everyone!
Best wishes for a wonderful New Year, dear @xincinsin!

For me this post means a bit of a reflection. I've been a naughty girl this year by my standards, because I have experienced what many here call the slippery slope of H. My collection went from this (right) to this... (left) (plus awoo and a gav for my leisure capsule)
View attachment 4292759
I intend to slow down acquisitions from here on quite substantially, since a) I like the size of my collection as it is in terms of wearing frequency and options and b) I felt like having a mini meltdown calculating what I've spent on scarves this year lol. but hey. It's been a good year. The boys buy a fancy watch... (*enter justifications*)

here onto my favorites. I decided to break them into 4 categories, because essentially all of them are my favorites (which tells me I chose well)

1. the Oscar for "Workhorse of the year" goes to:
Jardin è Maharani Recadré CSGM
View attachment 4292766

2. the Oscar for "Boutique find of the year" goes to:
Iris en Arc en Ciel Mousseline, which I discovered while in New York
View attachment 4292767
3. the Oscar for "Grail" goes to:
Arbre du vent
View attachment 4292768
and lastly the Oscar for "surprise of the year" goes to
Acte III in cw07 (because who knew I liked yellow and turquoise!)
View attachment 4292769
and some honorable mentions: Awooo - used most in my free time. Jardin a Sintra - best neutral. Mythique Phoenix CSGM - yummiest colors.

With that, I wish everybody a happy 2019, full of love, good health and joyful moments.

I love everything about this post... your reflections, and most of all your glorious silks! Your well curated collection is outstanding. The Scarf Mistresses were discussing the possibility of an Academy Awards theme and you did just that! I think it’s such a wonderful and fun idea! Loved your choices and ruminations about them! I finally became your twin on Sintra by pure luck at the end of the year and I am in love!!! Best neutral, for sure! Wishing you a most wonderful New Year!

tick-tock...
What a great pic showing all the excitement and expectation! I was going to ask you about the contents but saw your later post after... Big congrats!

Oscar for "Grail of the year" goes to the Mythiques Phoenix pareo, was love on first sight, so happy I finally found one:

Oscar for CSGM of the year goes to Jaguar Quetzal:
liked the drawing from the very first moment I got a glimpse on it in the new season scarf thread.
First I tried it on in the middle of January a duty free but passed (those mustardy orange leaves, "I need to like every corner when paying this price!", Took a look at it several more times ("Ah, I just cannot wear animal prints!"), always passed. The silk 90 also was only half perfect. I so wish they had put Alice's original CW to print...
Finally when I decided I do want it it had disappeared from the website and I was devastated. but I had already bought a green coat to match it (color is much deeper in real life). So when I finally found it in Berlin I was more than happy and have worn it very often ever since.
Happy new year!View attachment 4292814
I’m so glad you were able to locate a JQ... Isn’t it wonderful! Probably my favorite design of 2018.... looks magnificent with the coat! Happy New Year to you!

I'm loving my new scarf, yesterday I wore the same style for two different looks. I tied it cowboy style with the tails tied in a small knot behind my neck. In the morning I wore it with a casual top and later tucked it into a cowl neck sweater for an evening out.View attachment 4292833 View attachment 4292835
Such a beauty... Congrats!

Thank you for your kind encouragement .... here is a mod shot from the SS2019 thread in that case

Aren’t you just in love with this design! Beautiful CW too...

You are a genius, Fifi. I don’t know what I did but look how it came out! Off to celebrate the end of the year with a dear tPF friend.

Hahaha! Great knot! And I just love the way you switched the scarf ring to the front rather than the side... And, everything’s better with Samouraïs! Wishing you a most wonderful time tonight!

View attachment 4292842 New to me—straight from what must have been a storied Ukraine past: A la Gloire de Guillaume CSGM. It’s a beautiful thing, holes, pulls & all.
Could. Not. Resist. featuring the “naked” man portion of the story today. Given artist Dubigeon’s other work, this is tame stuff.
This design was one the special Grails that I was finally able to add to my collex this year! It’s fantastic! The design is based on the historic Bayeux tapestry. I’m sure you’re going to enjoy it so much!

Always love your picks and pix! And congrats on the weight loss!
I do covet that plumes moussie. And that samourais shawl is amazing n you!

Actually, in this pic, you have minimized the brown.

Beautiful!

I didn’t realize you bought the summers day in a 90. Congrats for actually letting go of some scarves! As far as overall clothing items, I let go of a few more items than came in. However, when it comes to H, nothing left. Only new items in, LOL!

So glad you found us! Your ability to look wonderful in so many color palettes is amazing. These are both beautiful on you!
Thank you so much for your sweet compliment!

Happy New Year!!! In Dubai it's already 2019!! :yahoo:

my long waited DR's Memoire Vive!
Happy New Year!! And congrats on this treasure! Would love to see it modeled!

Two special scarves that happened to be from designers new to me were from the Spring/Summer 2018 collection: Jeu de Cartes by Cassandre and Jeu des Omnibus Remix by Gianpaolo Pagni. Well, I knew Cassandre from his classic advertisement posters, but had no idea he had designed for Hermès! These were the first and second purchases I made in 2018. Both elegant and understated classics.

On this last day of 2018, I am once again grateful to have discovered this fantastic forum and amazing group of contributors. It is a place to discover, learn, and share our passion with wonderful people. Your expertise, great taste, enthusiasm and helpfulness are treasures. But, most importantly, your infinite warmth and sweet kindness, are priceless! Wishing all my dear Scarfies a most wonderful New Year 2019 and that all our silk dreams come true!

Happy New Year!
I’m so glad you found your Grail! [emoji173]️

Per our recent discussion on this thread about my very special Miami boutique edition of Flamingo Party, here are some shots of my three FP CWs as comparison for whoever is interested. The white was my first because I was initially seeking a more neutral CW with bright touches. Then, I became obsessed with the flamingoes in pink and found it in the cyclamen CW. Plus the oranges were orange which was something else I was looking for. I heard about the special Miami edition but never pursued it and realized my loss (pink flamingoes!!) when it was too late. Then, my SA mentioned in August as I was shopping for Baobab Cat that there was a special scarf in the back that had recently surfaced since it had somehow gotten reshuffled and filed away. When he brought it out I gasped... What?!?!?! But since I already had 2 CWs and didn’t want to duplicate if they were too similar, I had him hold it for me to think about it. Needless to say, I’m so glad that I didn’t pass on it!

Here is a group shot of all three CWs

And a few pics of the Miami boutique edition

This was my first FP CW which I considered to be a bit more neutral/toned down with pops of color

And this was the one I love with the pink flamingoes and orange oranges.

Looking back on 2018:

So much for “one in, one out” – I added 25 scarves to my collection and let go of 16. Some purchases were to replace a less useful CW of a design with a better one, like Elegance et Confort.
0046f15be85649c52cef3c5da5dee4c7.jpg

Some purchases were just making up for neglect in earlier seasons. We’ve all been there, right? I bought a 70 Savannah Dance and a 70 Ballet aquatique. Both are designs I loved but somehow just never got around to buying in season.

Some favorite additions from 2018:

From the boutique: 140 twill Caleche, Mors et Bouteilles. I love the size and the colors!

Act III because theater.
b74aef434fccfc8e5ee6b24f7bf46654.jpg

Sun and fun gavroche in springy colors that are so cheerful!

From resellers: Sportsmen. I love the design but I really need this in another CW. I think there is one with navy border.

Petit duc – I love the tangerine colors!
db1ce4113ae6b9fcc57fc130dce4ceeb.jpg

On a summer day 90 in graphite, blues and rose. It’s very similar to the 140 from this year and I love it.

Perfect! I’m thrilled you pounced on that OaSD!
(Now I’m looking for one too! [emoji38])

I did not buy any scarves in 2017 so I allowed myself to go over my 2 per year quota in 2018. It's been a BLUE YEAR! No 90cm, as I'm trying to be very selective about what I add to my collection in that size. The C'est la fete is to this date my most expensive silk purchase and I hate to admit I haven't found an occasion to wear it. Worth noting my photo was with flash, the print on it is nearly invisible IRL. My beard stubble has made short work of the slightly thinner 70cm silk before, so I have to be extra careful about wearing them. The Suite Et Poursuite gets lots of wear, maybe because it was a bargain and I'm less concerned about keeping it pristine, let the stubble do it's thing haha. The Caducee Rock also gets a ton of neck time. The fuchsia one (still available on the site USA) looks even better, but I don't think that color works on me. I can't wait to see what the 2019 S/S ones look like.

Happy New Years everyone!

Omigosh, such spectacular choices! I am partial to blue so I am totally gaga over these! You must find an occasion to wear the C’est la Fete, though for it’s such an amazing one! Congrats on such memorable purchases!
