Scarves Scarf Of The Day 2018 - Which Hermès scarf are you wearing today?

This year, I picked up quite a few oldies like the nameless scarf I showed last week. And I thought I'd completed collecting all the phoenixes I wanted - oh well, the best laid plans of mice and men...

This was my most significant purchase in terms of rarity. Sister to @lanit's Ecume. I'd drooled over that ethereal blue green watery cw since I saw pics of it in that quagmire of old tpf threads. I didn't think Croisette's pastel cw would suit me, but just maybe I could pull off "ethereal".
And then, I actually found the blue-green cw! Luckily, before I hurled my bank book at it, I found this other cw which I think is more me.

Yes, there's golden brown, but the other colors are superb! That rich purple! The deep teal! And we always love the minty green bits, right?

It is really beautiful, ksuromax! I would keep it.

Looking back on 2018:

So much for “one in, one out” – I added 25 scarves to my collection and let go of 16. Some purchases were to replace a less useful CW of a design with a better one, like Elegance et Confort.

Some purchases were just making up for neglect in earlier seasons. We’ve all been there, right? I bought a 70 Savannah Dance and a 70 Ballet aquatique. Both are designs I loved but somehow just never got around to buying in season.

Some favorite additions from 2018:

From the boutique: 140 twill Caleche, Mors et Bouteilles. I love the size and the colors!

Act III because theater.

Sun and fun gavroche in springy colors that are so cheerful!

From resellers: Sportsmen. I love the design but I really need this in another CW. I think there is one with navy border.

Petit duc – I love the tangerine colors!

On a summer day 90 in graphite, blues and rose. It’s very similar to the 140 from this year and I love it.

Thanking all the scarf mistresses and new scarf mistresses for keeping this thread so active and fun! It’s been a challenging year for my work and health, but I’ve much to be grateful for. I purchased most of my silks in spring (as usual), and also landed a grail or two in the process. Sending everyone warm wishes for the coming year. This thread remains my favorite to cheer and inspire me. Brava for the great work and posts!

But, every bit as inspirational is your impeccable styling. Your choices are always perfectly suited for you and exquisite. Quite a treasure trove here! Loving especially the Samouraïs and Awoo CWs with that marvelous acid green. The still life with On a Summer Day, barenia Faubourg mini roulis and sunflower is magazine-worthy! And a reminder to get on it and not let OaSD pass me by before it’s too late! The Tiger Royal from the Carré Cluv event is mega special! This is my favorite thread as well and I am so looking forward to it on 2019!

That purple and lime green combo!!!!! Ok... that is all. Jaw dropping gorgeous. And, you know, the brown doesn’t show as much as I thought it would. Definitely a keeper

I remember! Also that was my favorite CW, but it just didn't look good on me. So I love looking at yours and @scarf1's. Sigh. And this year one of the color families is Miami!

I noticed this year’s Miami color family... LOL... I think I may post pics of my three FPs as means of comparison. I know I should get rid of at least one but just don’t get around to it... or don’t want to!

I bought the white Savana Dance, kind of matches my CSGM. But I'd also like the black one....

i got a scarf mail, it's MP gav, but i am not sure about cw, i love the purple, but it feels like too much of brown, what do you think?
i am going to play with it, trying various ways of folding and knotting, but at the moment i'm 50/50 about it. Any advice/suggestions are welcome!

MP is so pretty as a pochette dear. I would suggest white linen for this colorway, and also think it would be superb on a straw hat as a hat band!

The 90s are truly my favs! Would love to see the white SD. I would so love a black!! And I wish I didn’t live in a tropical swampland so that I could justify the larger, heavier silks! So luscious!

Two special scarves that happened to be from designers new to me were from the Spring/Summer 2018 collection: Jeu de Cartes by Cassandre and Jeu des Omnibus Remix by Gianpaolo Pagni. Well, I knew Cassandre from his classic advertisement posters, but had no idea he had designed for Hermès! These were the first and second purchases I made in 2018. Both elegant and understated classics.

On this last day of 2018, I am once again grateful to have discovered this fantastic forum and amazing group of contributors. It is a place to discover, learn, and share our passion with wonderful people. Your expertise, great taste, enthusiasm and helpfulness are treasures. But, most importantly, your infinite warmth and sweet kindness, are priceless! Wishing all my dear Scarfies a most wonderful New Year 2019 and that all our silk dreams come true!
