Repair/Replacement Costs - List

Took two of my zippy coin purse wallets into the store in the middle of July to get the piping reglazed. The SA that helped me at first said she, "didn't think a repair was totally necessary" and then after I stated I still would like my decade old wallets to be sent in tried to claim that my older wallet out of the two had cracking issues --which it didn't. It kind of felt like she just didn't want to fill out all the paperwork.

Both wallets did get sent in and it took about a month to get back. Communication happened right before they shipped them off and right after they came back with incorrect progress updates/delivery times on the app. The cost was $195 a piece. There was a little glue residue on one of the wallets but other than that I have no complaints.

I just got a quote for $730 to replace all “outside” leather on my mono NF GM. One of my side straps broke but I asked about the handles and top trim too.
Each side strap was $100 so the handles and trim are $530….
The canvas and interior are in great condition - from 2008. I agreed to do it. I love the old canvas and older interior. :)

I don't know who remembers my lace replacement saga for my multicolor petit noe, but I decided to take a gamble and order a non-LV replacement from dress up your purse. I have to say I'm much happier with it than the too-thick-one LV tried gaslighting me into keeping. I ordered the "honey burgundy" color to try and match the patina my bag already has, and it is a close enough match in my opinion. Plus it was only $30! It came with a slide that I won't use because I prefer to tie my lace. The lace was a little tricky to tie just because the leather is still a bit stiff, but I imagine that will soften with use and time. I also purchased their leather mini tassel bag charm as it resembles the charm that comes with a croisette, one that I have always admired, but never been able to find being sold without the croisette bag itself. It is perhaps a bit smaller than I imagined, but for $24, you can't beat it. I attached it to the luggage tag on my noe to show y'all, but then promptly set it in a sunny windowsill to hopefully get it a little darker! First two photos are to show how dried out and worn my original lace was, even after conditioning it and the other two show my new lace and charm!

Im so glad you found a resolution and at such a great prices. I nearly spit my coffee out when you said lv tried to gaslight you, sums it up perfectly! How can they charge so much for ‘replacement’ parts that are not true to the actual design of the original and another company can do it so well and far cheaper?!! I tie my Noe (vintage black Epi petit) the same way and it’s so handy for access. The multicolour is the best Noe there is, continue to enjoy it in good health ❤️

(I purchased this bag off ebay about 6 yrs ago. When I received it I was very disappointed, it was not as described, it was very well used. I was going to return it to the private seller but instead she refunded me some money)

I contacted LV through my phone app to replace front plate. The quote was $195. When they received the bag they called me. She said I should replace the leather and D rings! Which after I mailed it in I was kicking myself for not asking. My quote was then $485. I received the bag back in about 8 weeks. They also included a new strap! And a handwritten note. They also called me a week after I received the bag to follow up I was completely satisfied. WOW LV! Outstanding customer service!! Super happy with how my first big repair went. I feel the price was very fair for what I received.

Final: $495.
New: Leather strap, & Front plate
Replaced: Leather & D rings

I also received a quote of $195 to replace the front plate, but after seeing your post I am going to go ahead and have the leather sides and d-rings replaced a well. Hopefully they will include a new strap in for free.

Hello Guy,

It's my first message (excuse my English I'm French).

I let my pegase 55 business for a repair bumpers + handles on the 8th January at the Strasbourg store. Delevry planning at store at the 23th February. Last thursday (23th February) I saw at the repair tracking that my pegase was always at the atelier so I called the client service and they tell me that my suitcase gone the atelier more than 10 days before, now 18 days later nobody knows where is my pegase, the store don't call me back and I'm really afraid. I call the Vuitton service each days, do you know what I can do please? I'm really afraid that they lost my suitcase. Do you know wich issue I can get please cause it was a second hand suitcase please? Thank You,

Gonty
I know this is a few years late - but I need to have the bumpers repaired on my Pegase also (as well as the zipper and wheels), and was wondering what the cost was for you for the repairs you had done? I hope you got your bag back in the end!

 Pretty much exactly the response I expected, I see they're not even using the wording "wear and tear" anymore
They still had a video call with me at the time I requested and said the only "repair" option they have for this piece is hotstamping? I was like uhmm...there isn't anywhere large enough to hot stamp this bag and thats not really a repair. She said I have to take it into a store to have them look at it and I said my nearest is 2.5 hours away and she said that's all she can tell me.

Edited to add: I've been polishing the hardware and conditioning the leather on my vintage speedy 40 all day today and noticed not a single stitch out of place on a bag that is over 40 years old. My, oh my, how times have changed.

Wow that is very disappointing to hear . This is not the lv I think of and I’m saddened that they are not standing behind their product or their client . Not good at all

Agreed...I have a feeling I'll get the same answer in a store since I don't have a relationship with a CA, but I'm debating if I should try when I get back from my Thanksgiving trip in early December, because it would add about an hour to my drive home from the airport.

I’m always an advocate for trying another store or ca . Given the distance perhaps you could find a way to call that store in advance speak with a manager and go over your purchase history with them perhaps giving them more reason to take a serious look? I had a ca for years but she’s left and I know it can be a challenge getting through to a store without that direct line .

Thinking about rehabilitating a monogram PA and wondering if Louis Vuitton would agree to swap the vachetta leather for the brown (calf?) leather like the Damier ebene print? Has anyone tried this?
I doubt it. They would replace like for like otherwise they would probably feel it is altering the original design. You could try it. I’m curious to see if they would do it.
