Thinking about rehabilitating a monogram PA and wondering if Louis Vuitton would agree to swap the vachetta leather for the brown (calf?) leather like the Damier ebene print? Has anyone tried this?
I don't think so. They repair back to its original design. Otherwise, you'd be designing that bag.

This is why they always check to see if they still have the spare parts available before they take in your goods.

I had my Pegase carry-on luggage repaired. The plastic parts and the wheels were falling apart, but since it was bought many years ago, they had to check to see if they had the parts in stock. Otherwise, they weren't going to take it in.

That’s good insight and makes sense. Thanks for sharing your experience.

They won't swap leather colors like you said, that would be a totally new product if they never produced it in that configuration. If they never have made that configuration, then you can always go the bespoke option and they will most likely produce it.

The last part is incorrect, they would take it in, and create new wheels for you. Many bags that are old have new parts created for them, they don't reject them for being too old, that's the magic of LV Heritage.

fingers crossed on the free strap! Please let us know how your repair turns outs
I ended up requesting the following services:

- change front clasp
- change 2 shoulder strap chaps
- replace leather strap

I didn’t ask for replacement of the d-rings because they weren’t in bad shape. LV either replaced the d-rings or polished them free of charge.

Total: $490

I took pictures prior to the repair, but only submitted them through the LV app and didn’t save them to my camera roll.

I’ve attached photos of the final product.

I'm considering taking my speedy and speedy HL in to replace the vachetta on the zipper pull, as they are pretty worn down.

Has anyone has this done recently? I believe I've read on here this be free? If not, how much did you pay? And how long did it take?

My son just knocked down my Vavin PM from the shelf and badly scratched the clasp.

Any idea how much the repair could be and if it would be possible?

Has anyone had a similar clasp replaced? It might just be the centre panel needs refitting.

Hello everyone! Just got this pre-loved piece. Wondering if the vachetta could be replaced? And estimated costs? IMG_0697.jpeg

Hi guys! I just bought these 2 MC Speedys in anticipation of the re-release of this collection. I was wondering if anyone here knows how much it would cost to replace all the vachetta on these two. Thank you

Was quoted $880 for changing all exterior leather on a Speedy 40. Seems a bit steep. I'm going to think about it as I don't really use the bag that much, but one of the rivets snapped and I won't use it in like that, might just try and sell it as is.

I need to do the same to a Speedy.
Did that quote include the D-rings attached to the handles, the piping, all the rivets, and the zipper?
Did you ever go through with the repair?

Hey Guys, has anyone had recently replaced all the Leather parts on a Keepall 55 and would share the price. Mine looks very used and could definitely need new life. Thanks in advance
Go through the LV app “MyLV” then “My Care Services” to request a quote. They’ll ask for photos. I did it for my Petite Noe. Good luck and let us know what you find out!

I ended up just selling the bag, because the 40 is a bit awkwardly large to only be able to hand carry for me. I was told that my quote included replacing all the leather on the outside of the bag (so yes, piping and all that is included) and all exterior metal pieces...I didn't say that I was interested in having the zipper replaced specifically, and never got an itemized breakdown, so I couldn't say for sure if that was included. The other thing I couldn't get over and made me decided to sell and not repair was that I think the bag had been stored folded for so many years by the previous owner(s), that it seemed no matter what I did to it, I couldn't get those deep creases in the canvas to ever relax and not be visible on both sides of the bag.

Thanks for the detailed response. Yeah my problem is that this bag is a family heirloom, and I don't want to just get rid of it. I would rather replace all of the leather so that it looks newer. I did that on my keepall 45 and it literally looks like a brand new bag. I guess I will take it in and see what they quote me, hopefully it's not too steep and hopefully it's less than the $800.

Regarding the creases, have you tried stuffing those little air bubble pillows or either a real pillow in it (stuff the bag to the point of where you can barely zip it closed) and storing it either in the sunlight or in a climate control closet? That's what I did to a pre-owned bag that I previously purchased and the creases are all gone; you can't tell that they were there.

I didn't try the stuffing method combined with sunlight, that is a good idea. I had definitely stuffed it full of clothes/pillows to the point it barely zipped and left it a while, also filled it to make it heavy and let it hang by the handles, which was a suggestion I had heard elsewhere, but they were persistent!
