Jeeeez! I am so clumsy lately. I can't believe I did this. I tugged on the side strap of MOCA LV hands NF and it caused a tear.
I know now what I need to do to have it fixed. However, I don't know if 1) I want to have it leave my side for months and 2) What if by chance something bad happens and I lose one of my most treasured LV bags?
Question: Would you send it in for repair? The thingamajig that tightens the strap can easily slide up and hide/prevent further tearing.

I think it makes no difference to you if you are not trying to sell it get top dollar

Awesome, your CA did you right! And I'd pay, grab my bag and run too. Apparently they had another price increase affecting repair as well. These days, LV does whatever it wants. A lot of times, even CAs cannot even stomach the things corporate make them do.

Congratulations on your "new" Roses Neverfull. Do show a picture when you get the chance! 🩷 🩷 🩷
Another price increase on repairs is absolutely absurd. The repairs are already so expensive! Im currently on vacation but I'll post my bag soon as I get back home.

I tried searching for an answer in the forum before asking, so my apologies if I've overlooked where this might've already been addressed, but when a bag is disassembled for repair, does LV use the original stitch holes when reassembling? Or do they just run the canvas through the sewing machine without regard for the existing holes?

A new, additional path of perforation from the needle would certainly weaken the canvas at the seams, so I'd hope a repair would use the original stitch holes. However, I understand that would be labor intensive, so I wasn't sure if that was the actual practice for LV.

I've never submitted a repair, but have always been curious about the process--does anyone have any insight?

My Experience with Louis Vuitton’s Bag Spa: What to Expect
If you’re considering giving your Louis Vuitton bag a little extra love, I can highly recommend their restoration service—often referred to as the “bag spa.” Over the years, I’ve had several items restored, including full leather replacements on both bags and SLGs (small leather goods), and the craftsmanship has always been exceptional. Here’s how the process typically works:

1. Evaluation
The first step is an evaluation. If you’re doing this in-store, a client advisor will inspect your item in person. For online requests, you’ll need to submit detailed photos so they can assess the condition remotely.

2. Quotation
Next, you’ll receive a quote. The great part is that you can tailor the service to your needs and budget. Whether you’re looking for a full restoration or just a few touch-ups, you’re in control of what gets done.

3. Restoration / SPA
This is where the magic happens. Take the Speedy, for example—if the canvas is in good shape, you can choose to replace all the leather parts, just the handles, or even just the zipper pull. Louis Vuitton always uses the original stitch holes, and much of the work is done by hand, preserving the integrity and structure of the original piece.

4. Return & Payment
Once the work is complete, your item will either be shipped back to you or returned to the store for pickup. If you initiated the process online, you’ll receive a secure payment link before shipping. After payment is confirmed, your newly refreshed item is on its way.

What You Should Know
From my personal experience, Louis Vuitton’s turnaround times are surprisingly quick. The longest I’ve waited was six weeks for a full leather replacement on my Cabas Mezzo. Another time, my Speedy was fully restored in just four weeks from drop-off to pickup.

As for pricing, I’ve often found the final cost to be slightly below the original estimate—which is always a nice surprise.
