Hi everyone! Just wanted to get some thoughts regarding this issue I have with my Neverfull MM. I bought the bag about a year ago in Hawaii. However, I really never noticed the stitching of zipper until recently (see photo) as the zipper does not close all the way at the end.. and it has been bothering me that I regret not checking the bag carefully when I bought it. I barely use the bag so it’s still pretty brand new. Do you think LV will repair the zipper or replace the bag? Please let me know if anyone has gone through similar issues. Thanks so much!
Pretty sure they likely will not replace the bag. But if you sweet talk them and plead your case about the bag being rarely used & it's a QA issue, they may repair the zipper for your charge for you.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Hummm, I think it’s worth inquiring for sure as it's clearly noted that it's not due to you being negligent but that the zipper was not sewn into the bag correctly in the first place. I'm just guessing but I would think they would as it was not done correctly. It's not that way from your doing, but theirs. If they debate you on this then I would debate back!

I only had to send 1 bag in to get fixed, which was my 2 month old nano speedy. The vachetta chaps were lifting. I sent it in for repair but they sent it back as non repairable (they said they had no vachetta, this was around Covid time when materials were scarce) and gave me a store credit which I was happy to get. Due to a recent price increase I got more for the bag and I just paid the difference for the Speedy 20.

Favorite MM.
(I purchased this bag off ebay about 6 yrs ago. When I received it I was very disappointed, it was not as described, it was very well used. I was going to return it to the private seller but instead she refunded me some money)

I contacted LV through my phone app to replace front plate. The quote was $195. When they received the bag they called me. She said I should replace the leather and D rings! Which after I mailed it in I was kicking myself for not asking. My quote was then $485. I received the bag back in about 8 weeks. They also included a new strap! And a handwritten note. They also called me a week after I received the bag to follow up I was completely satisfied. WOW LV! Outstanding customer service!! Super happy with how my first big repair went. I feel the price was very fair for what I received.

Final: $495.
New: Leather strap, & Front plate
Replaced: Leather & D rings

Oh yes LV, YES! I'm so happy to hear LV went all out for you on your repair! That makes me feel better buying LV products knowing they stand behind the brand. Although you paid for it, they still treated you with a little bit of red carpet! :) Now you have a new bag and after you total the cost you paid for the bag and the cost of the repair, you got the bag overall at a good price (I assume)! Enjoy your "new," bag! Happy tanning too (vachetta)! :)

I have had four bags sent to LV for Vachetta replacement. The most recent being my Randonee PM. It took 8 months and I am incredibly happy! The cost was USD $1,170.

Prior to that was my Samur at a repair cost of $ 1,310.

My Alma and Speedy were a lot less because they were sent early 2022.

Considering each bag cost between $225 and $290 mostly from sellers in Japan on eBay, it’s worth the cost because new bags are ridiculously priced.
Wow! Love it! Such beautiful eye candy! I'm in love with NEW vachetta! Lol.

So here the promised Update on the repair of my Speedy 25, the initial quote was 625€ at the end it cost 565€ which was a very nice surprise as I was expecting to pay the quoted amount. It was supposed to take 8 Weeks but they were able to do it in 4 weeks. Love that! I ordered a small luggage tag (60€) + a new Lock (35€) which I'll be able to pick up next week. (Oct.31th)

Ive been through the leather replacement process a couple of times now but I'm always surprised by how good it turns out. And how I all of a sudden fall in love with the bag again. I honestly will probably continuously have my bags repaired rather than replaced. :flowers:

And here she is:

that is not necessary to repair, I think.

Has anyone had any recent experience with the lining of the Pochette Métis becoming smelly? I bought mine in 2019 and used it really only a handful of times. I have had it sitting on a shelf in my closet (with the door open) and out of the dust bag/box. I picked it up for the first time in about a year the other week, and it has a very odd smell. Not really musty, more of a dirty sock odor. I aired it out, used a charcoal odor bag, nothing has diminished the odor.

I know others have reported this similar issue in the past. I have an appointment set up with their online service department, but I am just curious if others have had to pay to have the lining replaced (and what the cost is), or what the outcome has been for other people?

I just picked up my LV Palk Macassar Backpack from the boutique after getting the bottom piping replaced @ $390. I received the bag with several wrinkles in the canvas (back side, near the replaced piping) that weren't there prior to the repair.

My SA said that it should even out, and to carry it around with something heavy in it to stretch the canvas faster.

Obviously I am not thrilled to have the bag returned with the canvas worse off than before I repaired it. Does anybody have a suggestion as to what I should do to fix the issue, or should I go back to the store and ask for it to be re-repaired?

The way it waves is not like the creases caused by bags folded, my opinion your kind of wave in canvas won’t disappear. On the other hand, the bag is well used, I wouldn’t repair it at the first place. If the store can’t do anything more, I would sell it and use the money towards a new bag if you don’t want to use it as is any more.

The piping needed to be replaced as it had torn - someone shoved their suitcase into an overhead bin on top of my bag on a flight and damaged it. Otherwise, the bag is in great shape. I don't love thinking that I have no recourse here after dropping $400+ on a botched repair job - and the wrinkles in the canvas will definitely affect the resale value.

What in the world!? Smh. Wow, that should NOT have been ALLOWED to come back to you like that! (imo). Are you able to use your fingers to even test it to see if it could flattened out completely smooth all the way across the length of your bag? I'm hoping it's just wrinkles and not more like "pleats" due to the canvas not being completely aligned straight and FLAT when it was sewn! I know it's a hassle to return as you have to wait all over again but I personally would not accept that.

When I bought my Speedy Classic 25 it had some ugly folding marks. My SA told me they would fall out over time but I did not want to wait. I was able to get my wrinles out with a heated hand held hair dryer. What you can try for your issue is first completely stuff your bag as you need to have the wrinkles pushed out. Perhaps stuff it with towels, t shirts, etc. Lay the bag on the opposite side of the wrinkles and place a towel over the bag to cover that entire side of the bag that will be exposed to the heated hand held hair dryer. Heat the area with the hair dryer. After the area gets warm, turn off the dryer, remove the towel and start trying to smooth and massage the wrinkles out with your fingers and along the piping. You will need to do it while the canvas is still warm. You may need to repeat the process several times and you will need to make sure a towel is covering the entire side exposed to protect it from extreme heat. The canvas need to be warm when you try to smooth and massage the wrinkles out. Once it cools down, it won't work.

I've done this myself personally for my speedy to smooth the folding creases out. I actually did it without a towel and just held the hair dryer further away from my bag. I had to do it several times which looking back, probably took me a good hour. I finally got it to about 97% crease free and was happy with the results so I stopped. Over time by just using my Speedy and always having it properly stuffed when not using, it eventually smoothed out and now my Speedy is crease free. You can try this method but just be careful and don't rush through it. If you don't see any progress from doing it just a few times, I would just stop as more then likely, it will not smooth out and you don't want to "set" the wrinkles in place. If you can't just simply smooth it out with your fingers to see if it may smooth out (that its not sewn in that way) then using heat wont fix your issue as it was sewn in wrong to begin with. If you don't feel comfortable doing this then don't obviously. It worked for me but I understand most won't want to try it. I had a great result. The heat just softens the canvas to allow it to be somewhat manipulated but you need to allow it to get pretty warm in order to do this. You can also just see if the wrinkles fall out on its own but the way it looks, you may need to put in a structured base shaper or organizer and have it in there all the time to push those wrinkles out as it may never just "fall" out on its own. I'm sorry they sent the bag to you that way. Geez. :( Perhaps just send the bag back to avoid all the hassel. :(

Thanks for the response. These aren't folding marks and I'm not able to flatten the canvas (or come close to it at all). It definitely was not straight when the piping was reattached.

I'm going to take it back to the store tomorrow. My SA is a super nice guy and I have generally had great experiences working with him so hopefully he will do the right thing here.

The reason I said the bag is well used is because the canvas had worn down, turned to black and some prints had worn off. Man’s bags and this style typically don’t have high resale value, torn piping or fixed after fact in $400 repair doesn’t make too much difference, that’s why I said I wouldn’t spend money on it, rather sell it and use money buy a new / newer bag.
