I agree with the other ladies here, take it to the store you bought it from and ask for their advice. Did you notice that the leather was kinda dry or crackly? Do you live in a very dry hot climate? I know if the leather gets dry, it is prone to damage. If the store can't help you, maybe try applying some Apple Garde conditioner and see if it helps a bit? Then, spray with Apple Garde repellent to protect it. It looks pretty scuffed, though. You might need to take it to a leather repair shop.

hi ladies ~ i was shocked to find a teeny tiny hole on the black lining of the inside pocket of my city. i've never even used the inside pocket before and never thought of inspecting the inside pockets when i bought my bag a few months ago. who should i take my bag to: a seamstress/tailor/alterations or a bag repair shop to get it stitched/repaired? anyone know a good place in northern CA?

I think you could go either way but if you decide to go to a bag repair, you can try Anthony's on Geary in SFO. NM recommended that I bring one of my bags that had dye transfer to them. Totally different problem but they may be able to help with linings too.

I had a suede bag with dye transfer from jeans. They cleaned it up real good. There were still faint traces left but I was really happy with the results. Another PF member also recommended this place - she had an ink mark on her whiskey paddy and she says they did a really good job with it.:D Yours should be an easy fix though...

I just noticed that my black city has this weird spot that looks as if the outer layers of the leather have come off. I am so tempted to put clear nail polish on it to prevent further splitting. I already called Bal ny to see if there was anything that can be done, but they only suggested a great shoe repair place or to send it back to them. Can anyone please suggest a place in the LA area? :hysteric:

I would not recommend clear nail polish--I tried it on an edge of my bag that was sticking out and after a while the polish started to look kind of white and crackly. Luckily I only used it on a very tiny area and most of it has worn off.

If Bal does the repair will they charge you? I would probably send it back to them as they are the ultimate experts. Good luck!

caelum97, is the leather peeling? Oh dear, sorry to hear this. I suggest you not treat it with anything or attempt to fix it. Maybe you could take take a pic, call the store and request an exchange.
