Well, I was just looking over my Ink City and found an area that seems to have the same problem .. and mine is brand new (or "new old" stock if Ink is old enough to warrant being called that). I am attaching pics ... what do you think? I would describe mine more as a crack in the leather, though...rather than "peeling."

yikes, i'm sorry it happened to you too, when did you get her flatflux-girl (?) :shrugs:

Just a few weeks ago ... maybe 3? Thank goodness Neiman's has a good return policy. I have not been using it in case I wanted to return it. It's been torcher not to use it, but I just was soooo unsure!!!

wow, that's great about NM's amazing return policy, i think "barney's" has a good one too ...good luck with your "exchange", since we all know you'll be walking out the door with another gorgeous b-bag in your clutches

Here are the pictures. It looks worse IRL...or maybe i'm crazy and paranoid. I'm disappointed nonetheless. What do you gals think? My cousin and sister thinks it adds character, but i'm not into the "hole in my bag look." I'm still trying to find a shoe repair place in LA somewhere.

Do you condition your bag? It looks like it dried out:shame: . I'd condition it ASAP.

Check out how bad the peeling was on my BRAND NEW b-bag - this bag was exchanged for another black city.

Is that peeling or distressing? I think there's a fine line between the two, no? I mean, we want the bags to look vintage, distressed, semi-cracked/faded - isn't that "the look" these bags represent?

Some of these look/sound like distressing, not like actual "cracks" or peeling. Maybe it's the photos?

Yikes! I couldn't see it at first because all I noticed was the distressing, then I spotted the peeling you are talking about. In the left part of the pic, right? Goodness...

^^Exactly pupster! I pulled it out of the box and that is what it looked like. It was a nightmare to get replaced because the small boutique I purchased it from didn't want to eat the cost of a "bad bag". In the end I got a new one though.
Peeling leather is a little too distressed for me.

^^Yeah, it got pretty ugly - it took a month to sort out and is something I don't wish on my worst enemy. That's when I decided to only purchase lux good from large dept. stores with great return policies.

I did make an exception for my flat brass last week - but who could blame me!

Hey I finally figured it out! I wondered why oh why I had to suffer with my city bag - I mean it was so bad I didn't even use the bag for a long while after that, and I almost....... almost swore off b-bags. (just ask esiders - she knows all about what happened!) - So I kept on thinking how did I get so lucky with the flat brass (i'm soooo picky - and this was really the perfect one to me) - I must have had good b-bag karma for all I went through before!!!

seriously! you deserve it after all that hooplah- I'm so glad everything worked out for yah and the storm is clearing! :yahoo: :yahoo:

geez- what is it with problems with SAs and evil return policies with bbags lately? not cool at all. tsk tsk tsk!

ugggh that is definitely peeling!!! is it only with the black darker bags?

I just thoroughly checked my black city, which is a year old - no peeling or cracking at all. :shame:

I do see it in the above first now - I see it in the second picture, on the left. At first I thought it was just distressing, but now it looks sort of white ish? Or is that the flash?

I'll just continue conditioning mym bbag - thank god I don't have this problem...yet :wtf:

i know how each b bag is in it's unique leather form and that it differs from bag to bag, but i found a small tear by the stitching and was wondering if that's the style or did i just bought a defective one? additionally, does the color comes off when wiping it with water? because i was cleaning a spot and i saw some blue on the paper towel.

any help regarding these questions will be grateful. i've been pondering for all day and am not happy with these discoveries.
