or splitting of the underside of the leather folded pieces that attach the shoulder strap to the rings at the side of Bbags...I have noticed this mainly on my First, Day & Courrier styles. It's almost like the paint that seals the raw edges of the leather is prone to flake away in this area from the rubbing against the metal ring too. Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas on how to repair or protect this area? Please let me know if this needs more explaination...
my new dark night start to cracking

Hi ladies, I bought my first Balenciaga, and swooned everyday thereafter over it. Its a Coq RGGH PT, I adore it so much I haven't even used it. Until today, still brand new, and I realized that there's part of the sealant that had "chipped" off!

I'm crushed! I can't bring it back to the boutique (Milan), because I'm back in my home country, what can I do to fix it? The sealant is red (edges) and this exposed the underneath which is what I believe to be the inner leather (lightish brown).

I need your expert advise please! It's my first Balenciaga and I don't want to stop here!

Help! :'(

Hi Ladies,
I hope this is an acceptable forum post! I recently purchased a very used cream bal, and have never cleaned or restored any of my bals before as they didn't need it, but would like to improve the look of this one.
I've heard apple products may stain a cream and I don't want to send it off. The lovinmybags line worries me as it classifies it for shiny bags and I wouldn't say this one is. It is very yellowed due to wear and damage (top photos in flickr link, the cream part time), so does anyone have advice on products to use for light colors specifically?
I heard bal now has their own line despite their usual advice not to clean bals, has anyone tried it?

Thanks SO much in advance!!

i have a white purse and money wallet. and i just treated them the other day with Apple. I used the purse and the wallet very frequently, and i admit that i am pretty bad at keeping it clean, and keeping my dirty hands and others away from it. i don't have a picture of it before because it really wasn't too pretty, but i do have a picture of it now. i just took it.

Hi pooh girl,
I know your post is years old, but wanted to ask if you know whether apple still sells the same cleaner you used on your white bal, if you know the specific name (as they have so many types!), and if you think it would help to restore a very used (not necessarily dirty, but very yellowed) bal?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Hello girls.
Yesterday I bought a 2011 Grenadine bag. I got it with a discount as the color on the front of the bag had faded (maybe yellowed a little). There is not a great difference with the back or the mirror and otherwise it was new. It was in the windows or under those terrible lights on the shelf for too long. Is there a dye I can use to fix this discoloration? I used the Bal moisturizing cream and also Leather Honey which revived the dry leather but the difference is still the same.
I would appreciate any info here. Have in mind that I live in Europe so I realized that some products (leather dyes) can only be shipped to residents of USA or Canada.
Please help me out here.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I bought this Balenciaga because it was such a good deal. Unfortunately, the handles have been extremely worn to the extent that there are tears. Is there hope for this bag?

I would try asking a Balenciaga retailer asking how much it will cost of course and then if that does not work I would take it to a shoe repairer. Perhaps he can find a similar leather to unstitch and fix it. Good luck! I have to wonder about the owner of this bag though. How did she manage such damage to the handles.

Today I used the Collonil Gold Premium Leather Polish on my balenciaga nacre work. It says it "contains protecting oils and other nourishing ingredients which have been refined into a delicate emulsion. It allows you to both clean and make water-repellent the most delicate and exclusive leathers." I didn't notice any differenec in cleanliness, but it did bring out the sheen much better. Before my bag looked like a dirty white (bought used) and now it has a pearl-like finish. I was hoping that it would take away some of the darkened corners and/or marks on the bag, but I haven't found that yet. It does a good job moisturizing - I put several layers on with a sponge - and I found absolutely no darkening of color. It still has to remain overnight to dry, but as of right now there is a bit of tackiness still but the leather is noticeably softer. I have used the Collonil waterspot spray in the past and had good results with it on my balenciaga (no change in color, no tackiness if sprayed correctly, etc). If you want to use it please look at the Givenchy care thread where I have described what I have done. I am going to put an acryllic coat on the corners when it is dried and possibly on spots of the bag where the sheen has been lost. I will then probably spray the bag again with the waterspot to try and get the best sheen but that remains up in the air still :)

Now, I want to ask other TPFers. I had a pen mark on my bag and I read to try hair spray or hand wipes to get it off (I know you are all cringing). But I did it because I knew I would be conditioning the bag so I wasn't too worried about drying it out. Well, I don't know if it is just the sheen is gone or if it just made the leather darker - any suggestions on what I can do? It is not extremely noticeable thank god - it's in the top middle of the bag where it is usually slouchy a bit or hidden when the bag is worn over the shoulder, but I would like to try and make it better. I bought the Zelikovitz acryllic top coat to do the corners and piping with and I was thinking of maybe trying this to the spot. Although it will probably bring the sheen back I'm worried about if it makes it darker or if the spot isn't just lost sheen but darker in which case I'll make it a darker shiny spot. Does that make sense? Anyways, any suggestions are sincerely appreciated and if anyone has any other fixers for corners that are darkened/split and showing the light brown leather it would be sincerely appreciated!

PS. I'll post photos of my bag when I am finally done doing all this cleaning. Still a work in progress as you can see...

Hi all! I bought a bag awhile back and lost a stud! Has anyone had any experience with buying a replacement stud off ebay? I have not tried to call any Bal stores because my bag was second hand... What can I do???

Hi. I'm from the Philippines and lost one stud hardware. Recently purchased a Bal City and lost one stud! Anyone here knows where i can get a replacement/repair? Thanks for your help😉

Hi My Michelle, you can try Balenciaga at GB5, just not sure if they accept repairs though. If not, HK or Singapore.

If you are the DIY type you can buy one off ebay. Saw one selling for around 9USD.

Hi, I recently purchased a Black City from 2004. It's in decent shape but the handles are a little frayed; does anyone have recommendations for a repair/restoration shop in Los Angeles? This is only my second Bal purchase so I'm not really familiar with how the bags need to be maintained.
