That's interesting! Did you have to pay for the repair? It wasn't covered by Balenciaga's 2 year warranty? What did you have repaired, btw?

Ok - thanks for the info - I think people can go directly through Bal NY for repairs that are NOT in warranty, so Neiman's may have been an unnecessary go-between in your case.

Well I talked to the SA who sold me the VG GH Day today ... she didn't even bat an eyelash at the idea of sending it to Balenciaga. In fact, *she* came up with the suggestion to send it back to them to see if they could re-dye the bag. She said the bag would be sent to Neiman's Repair Center, and then THEY would send it on to Balenciaga.

I'm having doubts that Balenciaga would actually re-dye the bag, but I guess it's worth a try...

Thank you keodi, I was thinking of doing that. Now I'm starting to think I should just return the darned thing and forget it. I do love it, but I don't know if it's worth the headache. It is completely sold out at NM, though.

Hey there,

I received an 06 Black City from BalNY this week. It's the first time I've used BalNY, and overall it was a good experience. However, the bag they sent me is a little thinner than I'm used to....I do like it, but it's not IDEAL. I just didn't really want to deal with an exchange.

Because the leather is thinner than the rest of my bags, I'm oddly paranoid that it'll RIP. Especially the area where the handles meet the front/back panels of the bag. Has this ever happened to anyone??? I don't carry a ton of stuff, but this thin 06 leather is making me PARANOID.

LOL, when I read the title, I thought you were referring to RIP as Rest In Peace. I was worried that a poor Bbag had died beyond repair. :roflmfao:

To answer your question, I have not had ripping problems by I carry my bags with a high level of paranoia.:smile1:

LoL, I thought the same thing! Anyway, I was sent a black City that I felt was too thin compared to my others and I couldn't rest until I exchanged it. If was worth the hassle since I now have one with perfect leather to my liking. Good-luck!

I would be paranoid too especially if you carry more than just your wallet and phone. Aside from it ripping I'd be paranoid about the leather just being pulled and the color lightning. My 06 First had thin leather as well and I was super duper careful with her (don't have her anymore).

Luckily my current bbag has very thick leather so I'm not as paranoid. But when it comes to carrying my handbags I'm with chuggie - I carry them as if it were filled with raw eggs (i.e. very carefully)! lol.

you should send your 06 back and get an 07 - the leather is a bit thicker. i've heard of others having their bags rip and if you're like me - i really use my bags! it's a lot of money to pay and have to worry if it's going to hold up in the long run!

i thoguht tat too when i got my rouge vif, but it's actually pretty tough. like the handle part connecting to the watver, i SO know wat ur tlakin about, everytime when i get a bag i have to look at those part, and compared to my vert gazon twiggy, the rouge vif is def better, on my vert gazzon u can actually see the threads and the poked hole and it's NEW!! but my bf said i was just paranoid since it's MY bag so yeh..
