I think it's looks great but it is what you are happy with as the look may be different from the actual feel... so if you think that you will be fuming and angsty everytime you pick up the bag, it's going to eat into you.. I will usually cut loss if it's a toxic issue/bag/colleague/friend/transaction cause I want to surround myself with only good karma!
if you decide to drop the issue and move on, do remember that full disclosure is best policy when finding her another good home... PEACE be with you always!:wlae:

Thanks. I'm going to see how I feel carrying it out and about over the next few days and see how it 'sits' with me.

And I would always let anyone know its a dyed/conditioned bag should I choose to let it go

I can only imagine how mad you are because I, too, am very specific on what I want and understand if I didn't tell somebody to do something there was a reason for that BUT the bag looks AMAZING!!!! I LOVE IT! I hope it helps that everyone still thinks it looks BEAUTIFUL!:p

I am starting to feel like  maybe it is ok after all?

I bought it looking worn in which is how I LOVED it and they gave it back to me as a new looking version of itself. That's the peeve really....I don't like new looking bags....

maybe over time with use it will kinda get beaten up again....

Don't get mad at us for saying - it looks beautiful. It will not stay shiny, IMO (new Bal-bags are shiny, they don't stay that way either). It will get its two-tone nature back - and you'll get to watch!

I do know what you mean about its previous condition - that well-loved look is wondrous. I'd be pissed too - but I think you should keep it for awhile and see what happens. I think you'll find you love it.

This pic really makes me  :graucho: . It looks scrumptious!

Yeah, just play with it a while and see if the bad mojo wears off. I was worried about some major sacrilege going on but it looks good! :yahoo:

:roflmfao: you are too funny. Yea, from tomorrow I will be carrying it around and see how it looks 'in action' I'll keep you posted and er herm I still want pics of your soon to be acquisition too :graucho:

I have an 06 caramel, so I thought you were talking about that leather and color. But looking at your before and after photos, it's not THAT different. Don't stress too much, imo it still looks cool!:p

I saw the thread title and scrolled down slowly expecting to see the worst. Boy was I surprised--the "after" pics look gorgeous! I agree that they were very wrong to do something irreversible that you did not ask for, especially for a rare collectible. But wow they did a great job. It does not have that painted on and stiff look of a bad dye job. The leather is still so beautifully soft.

Is this leather shop anywhere in the San Francisco Bay area? I'd use them for sure!

Aw dear, it looks just fine!! I'm sure whatever they did to it will rub off with time.. most leathers do age (like people). I understand you might be upset 'cause they didn't do what you especifically asked for.. but have you considered, if what the saleslady told you were true, wouldn't you be more displeased with a two-toned bag? It would've been the same thing as it was in the beginning, only backwards.

Give it some time, I'm sure it'll grow on you. And if it doesn't, heck, you can use me as your garbage bin!

well, now its like a brand new bag!!! so now you can add your own personal touches!!! I think it looks fantastic, but if it's not what you love, I would sell it and buy a different bbag.

Actually no they are in NY. They are my favourite go to shoe and bag repairers. They are called Angelo's on 5th avenue and 53rd street. They are located inside the subway station. Behind their counter they have a ton of high end carrier bags. Choos, Manolos, Chloe etc etc etc so they are obviously used to handling high end items which is why I took the chance with them.

Reading through the responses is starting to change my mind on how I feel about the bag (although I still feel right in that they should have only done what I asked, not more). Heck, it could've been worse.

Check out Angelo's though. Even though I was shocked by my bag, I would continue with them.

awww. thanks very much. I will see how it goes with its look over time since I've always wanted an old caramel b bag.

I would have been LIVID!! As I began to look at the before and afters I expected a horrible resulet but I can honestly say I think it looks GORGEOUS!!! Seriously the leather looks great, the color looks great, unless it feels yuk I think it's a fabulous bag. Cosider it a face lift for a bag. :p It's up to you, but I think she is beautiful.
