i agree with everyone! they did a great job, even tho it was not what you had asked.. i would have been mad too, but honestly, its great, and carry it and rebreak it in!!

Ok, that is my old bag, and I confess, reading your post, I thought I might cry for you. BUT I LOVE it! It looks like new again, but it still has the different tones that gives it depth. That was probably what it looked like when it was brand new, excpet it doesn't have the shine.
Geez, if you put it on ebay I'd bid lol. I think it's really stunning now.
I'm tempted to send my lilac 03 over your way.....

When I started reading the post, I was so upset on your behalf. I thought about how upset I would be if someone dyed my bag without permission. Imagine my surprise when I saw how beautiful the bag looked in the after picture. :shocked: I would never have known that it was color corrected based on the photos. Please take solace in the fact it is a lovely bag that I would be happy to carry. :noworry:

Sigh....I completely understand how you feel....violated and pissed off! But like all the other tpfers, I truly believe it's a beauty-full bag that you should be so happy to carry. Look at that soft sweet leather! I could have been sooo much worse! Coming back crunchy.....gosh, who knows? No - wear it in good health. I betcha you'll end up loving it more than you thought. Think of it as a "one of a kind" bag!!!!;)

I totally can understand how u feel but after the cleaning effect, i kinda of like the new tone and the handles are clean as new......Well, u can always sell it later if u still don't like it after awhile......:)

Are you kidding!? The baby looks STUNNING!!!!!

It's my favorite shade of brown(cognac brown), and I wouldn't have it any other way! I personally think it looks 10+better than what it looked like before. That's exactly the color I want, and I've actaually been looking for it!
If the dye didn't change the feel of the leather, I think you won the jackpot!

Play around with it for a few days, and if you still don't like it, I'd GLADLY buy it from you!:nuts:

I think it looks INCREDIBLE! especially if the leather texture & feel wasn't changed! that was my biggest fear when I sent my 03 black city to be repaired, but mine came out great and yours looks so improved and delicious!! I think the shine is probably from a conditioner and it will wear down and become more matte as time goes on- my city looked almost metallic it has such a glow to the leather, it's really mellowed out 6 months later and looks better than ever! i recommend to give your caramel a little time & use!

Honestly, karenab, I think the 'after' version looks awesome...hope u find some consolation in that. Perhaps you could take some time & see if you love the bag?
Other than tt, i can understand how furious u are with the cleaners.. after you specifically told them NOT TO.
