I was sooo pleased to win this from someone from TPF. I took a risk because the handles were practically black but I was willing to try out my repairers who have experience with repairs to designer bags and shoes. They have always (until now), always come through with any job I have thrown at them (which is why I went with them instead of the $100+ route of LMB).
I asked them to ONLY lighten the handles and fix the corners which were dark and rubbed off. Instead the DYED the ENTIRE BAG!!!

I almost passed out when I saw it today.
I actually loved the beat up worn in look that the body of the bag had before and they dyed right over that.
At most I was going to do one coat of conditioner myself but keep that worn in look that the bag was blessed with.
My repairers dyed the entire bag so its now a darker caramel version of itself. I swear the woman saw smoke coming out of my nose ears and eyes. After MUCH yelling in front of other customers, she credited me half my money back (I was charged $60). They argued that since they cleaned/dyed the handles and corners, it no longer matched the body of the bag and so they had to do the entire bag so it matched. Of course I ripped into them saying that did not matter. I did NOT TELL THEM to do the entire bag. It now has a slight sheen to it (no longer the matte finish that I bought it with). Will the sheen wear off over time?
MY DILEMA:
Should I keep it and see if over time it ages in again to a matte finish or sell it to recoop back some of my loss and hold out for another 03 caramel (like they come around often). I do still like how it looks but its not how I wanted it to be! Time will only tell if it will grow on me...Do you think it looks that bad? Does it look ORANGE????
Only good thing is that its still soft and slouchy (thank God).
BEFORE:
the two-tone caramel that sold me:
you could see it needed cleaning:
I took a gamble buying it this way cuz I would just have the handles fixed:
AFTER PICS - HOW I GOT IT BACK FROM MY REPAIRER:
handles now (which I'm pleased with):
