Well..that's why I asked you guys...I knew I probably needed some sense talked into me. I was thinking of entitling this thread "hare brained scheme." ;)

I haven't totally given up the idea, though....hmmm.

I got my GH Truffle Work today. I guess the Work is REALLY NOT for me. I can't believe that the handles are actually SHORTER than the GH City!?!?!

I know I am sounding like a broken record on this ... but what is Balenciaga thinking?!?! Seems like they're finally realizing that the weekender needed a makeover (i.e. longer handles), but not the Work?

Emmakins - I have no idea. You will probably have to send it to Artbag to get an accurate estimate. They don't seem to like to give estimates based upon photos, although you might try emailing them photos and see if they will.

I recently won the 05 Ice Blue City on ebay from Lvlady99 with my BO. From her feedback on ebay and of tPF, I believed that the bag I was to receive would be just as described. However, I just received the bag today and while the leather is physically in excellent condition, the amount of yellowing on the leather has pretty much given the Ice Blue color a green tint. She failed to mention any yellowing at all in the description of the bag. Her description says "The leather has been EVENLY faded (more white than the original color) from NORMAL use". I absolutely adore Ice Blue and I am wondering if there is any way to reduce/eliminate the yellowing besides a full restoration from LMB. I recently used the Apple Cleaner & Conditioner on my 06 Rouge Money wallet with wonderful results. Would the Apple cleaner or the LMB Bal cleaner help? Or would professional cleaning be required and about how much would it cost? This is my first Balenciaga handbag and I wish it didn't start off on such a bad foot because Bal leather is just TDF and the amount of yellowing on this bag seriously wants to make me :yucky:.

Please help!!!!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TIA.

PS. I also sent a email to Lvlady99 regarding the amount of yellowing on the City. I will update once she replies.

SO sorry to hear about this. I actually warned someone about that same bag and suspected it might be yellowed. I have an ice blue city as well that has undergone some yellowing. It isn't severe, but it barely registers in the pictures. I was afraid that lvlady's city would be yellowed...

As for what you can do, I don't think there is anything, unfortunately. I have been conditioning mine with Apple care, but it hasn't taken away any of the yellow parts.

Can you post pictures of yours so we can see how severe it is? However, if you are really unhappy with it, I would ask for a refund.

Honestly...there is no cure for yellowing. Cleaning it won't help because it's not dirt, it's dye discolouration. Your only option would be to have it professionally redyed but they will not be able to match the original colour exactly and it may be quite obvious that it was redyed.
In my opinion, you should send that puppy back pronto. It will only get worse and it sounds like it is significantly not as described.

I know there's a lot of talk on this subject, but it seems to me that Bal should do something about yellowing bags. I know everyone says it is a natural part of the process, but seriously. That's just ridiculous to happen to such expensive bags. I know that LV will replace MC bags that have started to yellow. I personally think Bal should do the same! Or am I being naive? :sweatdrop:
