ABSOLUTELY! Return it. It's shouldn't do that. It doensn't looked scuffed, it looks faded. Remember the yellowing of the pale pinks from last spring? Balenciaga has and does still have some dye issues. Return the bag, that's my advice.

Ditto! Return it! Also, the corners on B-bags wear out from drying more than anything else, so you might consider moisturizing the corners (or whole bag if you prefer) in the future. Good luck!

I have purchased the bag hooks and I will see if I can find the card for the website I found them at. I also think I might have seen some on ebay.

tnc - Congrats on the beautiful bag! I don't think those handles look very dark at all and you may find they look even better in person.

powderpuff - Thanks for the info. re: artbag and for the handle cleaning ideas!

TNC - you got a great deal, IMO, and the amount of wear on the bag certainly wouldn't put my off from it! The corners are a bit worn but nowhere near needing to be repaired! and the handles are really not bad either... I would be curious to try Powder's methods for cleaning handles - the only time I tried to do this was using LMB's cleaner, and I wasn't impressed at all. But all in all, I think you got the bag at a steal, and I wouldn't worry about repair or restoration quite yet.
I live in NYC and have used ArtBag for repairs and have been happy for the most part. I think they did an amazing job on Mocean's bag, but keep in mind that it was black and therefore it was easier to find matching leather to re-do the piping.

My two cents: I think Mocean's Artbag-repaired bag looks awesome. However, it was black, and they did repair it with nappa leather (she describes it fully in her original post).
However, if you've got massively compromised handles, or the bag is a COLOR, like Magenta, or whatever, how can extensive repairs that involve color-matching can be accomplished without re-dying or painting?

TNC, that bag is beautiful and you got a fantastic price. I've heard other posters say that when their pre-loved bags arrived they were shocked to see how much lighter the handles appeared IRL compared to the auction photos. In fact one PFer said she regretted passing on tons of auctions because she thought the handles were dirty.

So hopefully that will be the case here, and then with just a little love on the rest of the bag you won't feel you need to send it to LMB or Artbag. Good luck! And keep us informed...

thanks so much for everything gals!!!

POWDER- As soon as i get that baby we are going straight to the cosmetics aisle!!!! I will definitely give that a try! Thanks for the advice.

I will def keep everyone posted a share pics!

and good point abou mocean's bag.... magenta would be hard to match and probably have to be painted.... I'll see how all goes and may just leave her the way she is.

This is so true. I have brand new bags and the handles want to photograph darker. My '05 camel is an example. The handles are NOT darker but no matter how many pictures I take they look like they are really dark. I cleaned them because they were a little darker. I lay them over on the front of the bag and they are identical. Take a picture and they look darker. I have no clue why. I too have wondered how many bags I passed up that could have been far lighter than in the pictures. That magenta is still beautiful regarless. Scuffed corners don't bother me at all. I think it makes it look *well loved*

tnc 727- I totally think you got a FANTASTIC deal! clean the handles a little bit, but i dont think it needs restoration yet- I'd just clean it up and use it- it's gorgeous!

I know the edges of Balenciaga bags get dirty, but has anyone ever seen an edge split open??:confused1:

I have a truffle 06 city bags and one of the edges has actually split open!!
Do you all think this is deffective? Otherwise, the bag is in good condition. Should I send it in for repair???
