I have NEVER noticed this on any of my bags (I have bags from 2003 thru present)!

As far as repair is concerned, I would DEMAND that Balenciaga repair it FREE-OF-CHARGE! These bags are not cheap and I would remind Balenciaga of that; this problem should NOT be happening on bags like this ... PERIOD!

Oh yeah ... what is 'LMB'???

Wouldn't they blame me for not beeing careful enough with my bag? I guess it's worth a try though. I bought it from LVR so I guess I have to go trough them for a repair? Or can I contact Balenciaga directly?

Btw, thanks for all your help, you guys are the best!

You can contact LVR and ask them about the repair, but they are going to send it to Balenciaga. I've been in Barneys when folks have come in inquiring about repairs, and they are always told that the bags are sent to Balenciaga for repair.

As far as "blaming" you for the problem ... I would hope that they wouldn't take that kind of ATTITUDE towards anyone who wanted their bag repaired. Again, if these bags were inexpensive, that would be one thing ... but THEY AREN'T!!! Balenciaga needs to stand behind it's product ... if they don't, then people will simply not buy them anymore ... there are many other wonderful Handbags available nowadays!!

DITTO! That's ridiculous. They need to strart taking responsibility for some of these things. Like the pale pink fading issue etc. They know the pale pinks had issues, even the Balenciaga SA's admit it yet they still let people buy them. This paint issue is ridiculous. If mine do that they will get a daily emai. :p

I had an 05 bubblegum pink which did it really badly, it even did it around the top of the bag, above where the zip is if that makes sense, my 06 rouge vif hasn't done it at all, to be fair though I haven't used this bag much at all! It's annoying though

I totally agree, for the price, this shoudl not be happening. I have DKNY bag with same stitching as Balenciaga on handles and it has no problems whatsoever. Considering the price difference between Bal and DKNY, this type of problem should NOT happen to Bal. Or it's not worth the price.

i do notice that this is worse with softer, slouchier leathers. (not just balenciagas but some of the other designers as well.) i think it's because the leather is more flexible/pliable/bendable, so the painted (sealed) edges are more prone to cracking and peeling than bags that stay stiff/structured.
but i do agree with ceejay and the others that this should not be happening on such $$$$ bags! i'm sure they can use stronger yet more pliable paint/sealant that can move better WITH the slouchier leather, so that they don't crack and peel. i've noticed edges and sealants hold up better on certain brands than others. i think balenciagas are definitely one of the more delicate and fragile ones. :(

Here's a picture of mine.... I have used it very gentle, and I haven't had it for THAT long so I'm kind of dissapointed. I still love it though!

wow that's just unacceptable have you tried sending it back to BalNy to fix it? I agree with larnette they aren't making bags like they used to. A result of mass production I guess:shrugs:

Do the ladies who's bags are doing this treat their bags at all?

This has not happened to any of my bags, and they are from 05' and 06' and have had a fair bit of use...

I treat mine, and moisturize them (inlcuding handles) liberally... just wondering if that may have something to do with it?

Can you tell us how you treat your bags, especially the handles? I was not aware of these type of problems and I just got two Bbags and concerned. I plan on buying Apple Guarde spray but what else would be good?

Thanks!
