I know! Down right ugly flat. These are the shots that got me hooked. And one where I'm using it as a purse.

sdsurfchick, I will admit that I had a moment of utter disbelief when you said Vue du carosse. Flat, it's - I'm so sorry, Hermes! - one spectacularly ugly scarf. And then I googled how it ties. And then I looked up the colorways. OMG, straight to my secret wishlist. By this time tonight, I have even found the movie and saw the gorg Diane's scarf - is it cream/white/gold? Thank you for the new grail :)

Also, Tuiga is :heart::heart::heart:

Jahna, what an amazing stash! I'm very curious to know what cw's of Henry Smith and Marché flottant you have? Thank you so much, I will be researching all of these. I also remember now that Per Astra Ad Astra is a recent nautical.

:smile1:

Jahna, I am impressed, is it you hanging on top of the rig (or whatever its called)?!

Here is my contribution to the nautical theme:

I don't know anything about it but I read somwhere it is designed by Christiane Vauzelles, which I find hard to beleive.

Any of you lovely ladies have an idea?

"Henry Smith Sailor" really grew on me, mostly because of this unique style. Apparently Phillippe Dumas paints in many styles:

They call it "Marine Naive" here. When I get to my studio, I will post the colorways I have.

"Marche Flottant"? I loved this scarf from the beginning. (Actually I didn't think of it as "nautical" until this thread). I watched it for a long time and LOVE the colorway I have. Again I'll post later.

Tuiga shows up a lot. Here is some history:

and this beauty has been restored and is still sailing:

"En Course" (as you probably know) is a particularly nice design of it.

Yup. It's me, fixing the ends of the "spreaders" so the sail doesn't rip.

Interesting scarf! I don't remember seeing it anywhere!

I am pretty sure this must have been sold as a souvenier for SS France. Always wanted to take that ship :-( to Europe...

Well, this is interesting:

Note the disclaimer at the top ASKING for help making this not an ad but "encyclopedic".

I got there because I thought that the way the "sea" was rendered in the "life-preserver scarf" looked a bit like the "strokes" used in "Henry Smith Sailor" by Philippe Dumas...

Blah, blah...off to the studio!

Brage, where do you find these? I'm not sure I've ever seen this. Doesn't mean it's not authentic. Will look into it when I can.

Bingo!!!
