Jahna, thank you :smile1:

I've been meaning to ask if anyone has suggestions of the more recent nautical-themed scarves. Hermes seems to have been getting away from putting ships on scarves and most colorways of classic designs are super unkind to me.

So far, the ones that I could think of are Marine Naïve and 70cm Leman (hunting for the right cw's), Marché flottant du lac Inlé (I have this one), and kind of, Escales Méditerranées (I have two of these).

Counting sailboats, my faves include Tuiga, Marine en Bois, Bouteilles la Mer, Lancement d'un Vaisseau aux Chantiers Navals du Roi and Vue du Carosse. Couldn't stand the last one until I saw it on Diane Keaton in Mad Money a few years back. Within two weeks I had it in four colors. Ties like a dream. Some of these were offered in fabulous colorations, and I know some are not so recent.

Jahna, which Vaisseaux? Would you mind posting a picture of Zephyr? Thanks!

For you, o helpful one, anything! (I hope they are not fake...)

Quelle domage, (sp? too much Tour de France), the tile belongs to the person from whom I bought this scarf (btw, I FINALLY got some names for it-"Ships and Fans" and Zephir-from Luxury-Scarves I think). What IS the correct name?

And "Vaisseaux"... looks like some serious trouble with the rigging there. I need to find out more about this scarf. (I do love working in the rigging)

Uh...well, er, a ...the bf>husband has that boat in the picture. Prairie girl has learned a lot in the last few years... I started out being afraid of falling off the boat while we were sailing; now I worry about HIM falling off the boat! ...hit MOB, throw out life preserver (have we found that scarf yet?), drop the sails, scream a lot, try to find channel 16, start engine, try not to kill him... :amazed:

I'm going back to Tango and NYC...

Jahna, which boat, the double-masted ship-of-the-line thingy? :amazed: (I'm a huge Patrick O'Brian fan  )

Patrick O'Brian??? Wow girl!!! If you mean our boat, it is a ketch rig, center cockpit '73 (Hinckley 49').

It's got a lovely rear cockpit where I sit and read. ...when I am not freaking out.
BTW, I am still enjoying your Burberry (sp?) scarf. Remember that?

Anyone have info on "Phaeton"? Has it been faked?

What about brage's life preserver scarf? ...and the hunt scene? really a fake, for sure?

uh oh, not me on the Burberry scarf....Hinckley. Nice. Very nice. ;) ....Phaeton is beautiful; check Geoff Clarke's guides on eBay; he's got some lists of common fakes, and you can always google it and see if the usual suspect fakers come up....

sdsurfchick, I will admit that I had a moment of utter disbelief when you said Vue du carosse. Flat, it's - I'm so sorry, Hermes! - one spectacularly ugly scarf. And then I googled how it ties. And then I looked up the colorways. OMG, straight to my secret wishlist. By this time tonight, I have even found the movie and saw the gorg Diane's scarf - is it cream/white/gold? Thank you for the new grail :)

Also, Tuiga is :heart::heart::heart:

Jahna, what an amazing stash! I'm very curious to know what cw's of Henry Smith and Marché flottant you have? Thank you so much, I will be researching all of these. I also remember now that Per Astra Ad Astra is a recent nautical.

:smile1:
