For my first scarf posting (hope this is the right forum): I was inspired by someone who wrote that she would buy old, well used scarves to wear, instead of having pristine scarves she would be afraid to wear and damage.
So I rescued this particular Armes de Chasse from ebay, which had lots of pulls, small holes, and whose white had become pink from color runs.I repaired all pulls and holes, then decided to test the extreme boiling water method described by Geoff Clarke on Facebook - it really does work (lightened some of the reddest areas). However, given how many patient hours it will take to remove all the color, I will wait until one winter when I have time on my hands to do this.
In the meantime, I am taking Geoff's other advice - simply retain it as it is - pink isn't so bad
