I am pretty sure that you have the original (I have the same scarf with the copyright). I don't think they have ever re-issued this scarf.I'm hoping someone can solve a puzzle about my La Mare aux Canards 90cm, which I purchased at Harrods in 1986. It was my first Hermes scarf purchase... little did I know!![]()
My research only shows me one issue date: 1981. It's certainly possible that my scarf had been hanging around for five years, but I have seen other images of this scarf on the internet, dated 1981, both with and without the © beside the HERMES logo. As you can see, mine has the ©. I have checked it carefully, and there is no ©HERMES elsewhere on the scarf.
Do I have an original (1981) issue, or was there a later issue, and that's what I have?
Thank you for your help! I am not asking for resale purposes... I'd just like to know for my own understanding of the scarf.

That was what I thought, too! So do you have any insight as to why some of the scarves I've seen (on trusted sites!) don't have the © next to the Hermes logo? This one, f'rinstance:

BTW, we're scarf twins! How cool is that?![]()
If you will look at a few posts further down (older) ... Seton gave you the answer to this question - the copyright mark has changed over time Ex : One copyright type corresponds to one decade , another to a printing in a later decade
There may or may not have been significant changes to the design to go along with the change in copyright . Ex: the artistic design at the second printing may have been the same , or not.
There is no hard and fast rule as to whether the second printing may / may not have been considered to be a new "issue". That term "issue" is used very loosely and means different things to different people.
Most of the info on reissue (what ever that may be ... ) dates is anecdotal - ex: some one saw the design 5 years later later in a "new" colorway and that has been reported as a new "issue" date. The info about these new sightings has been passed down through the years and 10 blogs may report the same "reissue" date which ultimately relies on someone's memory of going shopping 20 years ago. Not exactly accurate but the best we have ....
Seton has some of the best info on some of these types of changes on her blog Hermesology

In a different thread, seton has confirmed that my Mare aux Canards (with the ©) is the 2nd, 1985 release. Which tells me that the 1981 (original release) is the one without the ©. Yet seton's original Pani La Shar Pawnee, from 1984, has the ©... this is what identifies it as the original release. And here we are talking about two scarves that were issued in the same decade!!!!! For this to be logical, the 1981 Mare aux Canards should have the ©, and the 1985 reprint should not have it!

So I have decided that I am going to stop driving all of you very nice experts crazy with my worries about release dates, and simply enjoy wearing the scarves I purchased years ago, and the ones I am acquiring now.
Thank you for taking time to respond marietouchet. I did as you suggested and looked for years of issue for Tourbillion. On Piwigo there was 1968 and I also found mention of 2003 here, though there may be others. Do you know by chance if it may have been issued in a chiffon/mousseline fabric?
TY, marietouchet![]()
Hermes published a bunch of books, mostly in French and very hard to find, you need to try a rare bookseller eg ABEOOKS looking for Hermes Paris as the authorDear fellow scarf lovers and experts,
I am looking for your advice once again =))) I would really like to learn more about the H scarves and I have been looking for informative books about them, not necessarily official and preferably in English (though I am willing to learn French for the occasion) What kind of literature would you recommend? Thank you so much in advance!
