I think the olive one is the one that I am referring to as "bronze". it was sorta olive/kaki/bronze-ish with a blinding white background. I used to own that colorway about 10 yrs ago. Anyway, IIRC, the (C)HERMES was somewhere on the left side and it was the last issue.
Also, luxuryscarves doesnt list all the yrs of reissue. I believe that it was reissued at least once in the late 70s or early 80s.

Thanks for your compliments on my blog:smile1:
The copyright of mine is underneath "Hermes Paris". The scarf doesn't have a care tag and the color is not precisely screened like modern scarves so that keeps me so intrigued.

Ah. Then your scarf is the 70s/80s issue I was talking about.
Original issue (1962?) has no copyright.
The issue from the 1990s has the copyright on the left side which I know from first hand experience.

:hugs: thank you again and again. Knowing that, I probably will have to take extra care and send it to dry-clean instead of hand-washing like I always do with newer scarves (I heard how unstable the dye on vintage scarf is - don't want to risk it).
Have a lovely Sunday!

Apologies if this is obvious to those of you with more experience of Hermes.
I have only ever purchased scarves and pochettes from the same store and they always remove the paper label. Do some stores leave these on? I am wondering as I am seeing scarves on auction websites which still have this label, does this suggest they may be fakes?
This is my first post so I hope it isnt a silly question :smile1:
Thanks

I have experience of one Hermès store only. The paper labels are never removed. In case the customer regrets the purchase, the store will take the item back only if the label remains on the scarf/garment, likewise in other stores.
Howerver, I have seen fake paper labels on scarves on ebay. There are of course authentic labels on authentic scarves on ebay most of the time. Once you are familiar with how the labels look, you can see if it is an authentic paper label or a fake.

The paper labels in my experience are most often left, but in some boutiques SAs remove them, I have no idea why. Seeing a paper label in Ebay listing wouldn't necessary mean that the item is fake, many sellers sell new scarves with labels intact, but there are fake paper labels too as Holsby wrote (together with fake scarves obviously :D), so seeing one would mean it's def. authentic too.

From my experience, the store tag with barcode is left intact when I purchase in the U.S., however when I purchased in Paris, the SA's removed the tag.

I bought two dip dyes (Brides de Gala and Astrologie) earlier this year from a reputable online shop (Malleries), both appeared to be in mint condition. However, when I started wearing them much later, I found that they have one common "problem" - they are not perfect squares, more like 84cm x 89cm! (I only noticed it when I tried to fold them into triangles.) Could somebody tell me how that is possible? TIA!

Hi

I would like some help please from the scarf collectors please.

My mum has been visiting and while here has been admiring my new silken purchases, so I have decided to buy her a scarf for her birthday. She collects elephants and I am thinking that this may be an idea to go with.

If you would please share which styles have an elephant theme I would be grateful.

Thanks.

are u gonna do ebay or H boutique?

Hi

either, it would depend on where I could find something in stock.

Thanks

ok, after thinking it over, i dont think u will be able to find anything anyway since it's been 5 yrs since 2008, Year of India which had lots of elephant scarves.

Beloved India
Caparacons (this has been reissued a few times and was never that popular to begin with so chances of u finding one are excellent)
Fantaisies Indiennes (same as Caparacons except that it is more popular)
Carre Kantha
Legende moghole
Splendeur des Maharajas
Ronde Des Elephants
