also my medium shopping tote is missing a screw. will they be able to replace this and does this often happen? picture shows the screw that i am missing on the other side of my bag.

I was disappointed when I took my soft and chain to the Chanel boutique in my local NM and the SA told me that unless I purchased it there, it's not their normal practice to take my bag and send for repair :(

I'm going to be in Orlando next week and plan to take it to the Chanel boutique but I have to admit I was slightly aggravated that after spending so much on a bag, the SA hardly even glanced at my bag to see what kind of repair I needed and even tried referring me to home depot to find a small screw!!

If I purchased my purse from Bloomingdales, can I take my purse to Nordstrom/Neiman for a repair? Will it accept it? It's almost a year since I purchase. But the leather end from the interlace leather chain peeled off.

Well Chanel itself does not do the repairs anymore in the states. They contract it out . They use leather surgens in PA, for the east coast and I am not sure who they use on the west coast.

Any Chanel should take your bag in, even if you did not purchase it there. I have a bag I want to repair, but I am going to call the place that repairs them first to see if it can even be done. Since they now use outside sourcing, those places do not have all hardwear etc.

I don't see anything regarding changing the lining on the price list that was posted at the beginning of this thread. Do they indeed change the lining when they do a total refurbishment? (Included in the $265 price?)

This is a much older flap from the 90s so I understand that the thread used might be obsolete now BUT, I did read somewhere that the workshop in Paris archives all materials so I'm really surprised that they didn't send this to Paris when the thread wasn't available in the US repair shop. :tdown:

Also, it came back with scratches on the edges and corners so that's another reason why I didn't want to send it off again.

Chanel's lack of standards is really starting to show. It's downright sloppy.

Wow! That sounds bad. I just sent a couple of my Hermes for cleaning and polishing and the cost is$0. The artisan called me himself to explain what he did with my purses as well. The purses came back to me newer and shinier too.

i am very new to this forum. I have recently developed a strong interest in the 2.55 chanel flap bag. For starting me off, im looking to purchase a used chanel off of ebay. I have found one that i think is in great condition but there is just one issue. The close snap button has a fracture on it. I am wondering whether i would be able to get that replaced through the chanel services in toronto. I am attaching a picture so you guys can see. Thanks in advance for your help!

Don't see your picture but think that they probably would! Are you thinking bloor st or holt location?

The surface of inside lining is peeling. Does anyone have the same problem or experience on fixing this? How much Chanel Boutique charge for this (from your experience) or the other bag spa shop? Thks

I'm still waiting for my red in business flap bag to be repaired, the stitching was coming loose, I put it in for repair in November they said it would take 4 weeks.... still waiting 4 months later :(
I got it for my 25th Birthday in April of 2011 so I get the bag repaired for free.

I also got the Black classic, and a purse and also some items from Louis Vuitton that day :) When my bag does arrive back, I shall celebrate with a bottle of MOET !!
