Thank you so much for posting this. This is one of many reasons I have switched to Chanel and quit purchasing LV. Chanel prices for repair is so much more reasonable and at least they have a list for you to see unlike LV where you must bring in the bag to the store and get a rough quote.

are these prices up to date?? i think i remember seeing this price list a few years back. i haven't had anything sent for repairs in awhile, but when i asked at a boutique recently, they told me that I had to bring my item in for a price quote (though who knows if that info is correct).

Have to BUMP this but...can you bring in your flap to any Chanel boutique even if you didn't buy it at that particular one??
Anyone know???

I've sent a flap to the boutique which was purchased at NM and they took care of it free of charge (purchased in Jan and sent it it for repair in Feb) and ship it back to me within a short period of time.

Thanks Chriseve - also -

I am now shying AWAY from the metallics...my sister's two month old silver has 'rubbings' on the edges. Not a 'practical' piece IMO and can't be fixed acc to CC SA?

I had a bag fully refurbished in the USA in 2010. The full refurbishment price was the same as on the list posted here.

Thank you very much for this information. I DID call Chanel at 57th street, NYC. I got someone in repair that told me I would have to take it to a jeweler. She couldn't answer the question. I asked specifically: "If I buy a vintage chanel belt in gold, can you replate it?"

I wasn't given a straight answer. I did ask a price. I wasn't given an answer. The head of repair was on vacation. This girl was an idiot. Thanks I will call again and try to speak to the head of repair.

I was told that Chanel didn't replate but instead replaced the hardware, so I didn't know.
Again, thanks!

Just wondering if you purchase the bag from Chanel departmental store, can you still do the repair through the departmental store? I don't have a Chanel boutique near where I live.

is it a world price?

I doubt it, recently someone from Singapore told me her SA quoted her $800 to refurbish the corners of a flap when the US price for total refurbishment is only $265....and LMB's price was only around $150ish if I remember correctly (for corners, not total refurb).

I know there have been posts about how their metallic reissues stay in great to perfect shape after usage, but I personally find that hard to believe that a used metallic bag (I don't mean, carry it to dinner once a week, I mean actually use it daily type deal) doesn't show wear at all - I don't like to baby my bags - I take care of them, but if I have to 'baby' a bag, then in my book I'm not really enjoying it fully. I have yet to encounter a metallic Chanel that doesn't 'shed' or rub off, hence no matter how tempting it might be to get a metallic bag, especially when they go on sale (remember when the turquoise metallic reissue went on sale everywhere?), I refuse to get one from Chanel. I've had much better luck with metallics' longevity from other brands.

Back to your sister's silver - try LMB - Barb does a good job getting the metallic finish back, and perhaps while she's at it, she can 'rub-proof' it for you, even if it's not permanent.
