I just got a maxi flap (I would say pre-owned b/c I didn't actually buy it from a store, but rather from someone, but it is brand new with tags still), and was wondering if I take it to the store, would they polish the leather for me?? Well, I don't know..is that a ridiculous request and will the SA just laugh at me?..lol. I usually care for my own purses (and I have a lambskin that I use that Apple Brand leather stuff on, and it's been fine).

I am not sure if they can polish it for you but since all you need is polishing, I would say why don't you just use the leather products that you have?

I took my beige Medallion bag to the boutique in September and got it back last week. AH-MAZING. I mean, this looks like it came right from the store. 110.00. So pleased.

This post is so helpful! I bought a sueded tote last august and used it only a few weeks, but because the leather is so delicate, I just noticed that the corners have the color rubbed off! I hope I can bring it back to chanel for repair for free since it's only been a year, but I wonder how the bag will hold up. I wasn't too hard on the bag, and I think rubbing is natural but I don't "baby" bags. It's a shame spending so much money and have the bag not wear well. I know all leathers are different and I don't expect my bags to always look new, but some other designer bags hold up much better or are a leather that looks good with wear. And sadly, when I pay around 1200-1500 for a bag, I don't have the expectation that the bag will be pristine and it's going to see hard use. But when I spend over 2000 for a bag, I want it to last 10+ years.

According to the list, I could get the gold/leather interlace one for $60?

I don't have a Chanel boutique where I live (Arizona), only a Saks and a NM. Could I bring it there and still get the chain? Will they take my bag just for the chain, or have it sent over to me?

I had to have the leather tab holding the chain strap to the bag repaired as it was tearing. I called the boutique and described the issue over the phone to the SA that sends the bags off for repair. He gave me a general price estimate over the phone. Then when I took the bag in was given the same estimate. I was quoted 6-8 weeks for the repair. It tooks 6 weeks and was $30 plus taxes.
